A lovely setting to get away from it all. It is a bit of an adventure getting there (carried into the boat by men walking in the lake and a 3 hour boat journey!) and I wouldn't recommend for those who are used to hotel holidays! The facilities are extremely basic - sarongs on the toilet doors, cold showers inside... More

Excellent service, food, location, shower, cottage, view…everything! Hats off for Andrew!!! The sailing lesson was really an adventure :-). We spend two days at Banda and left with big smiles on our faces.

We really enjoyed our stay overhere! Andrew taught us how to play canasta and backgammon and we played it together evening after evening. Did some fishing and our catch of the day was only some weed but good fun anyway. Had the best outdoor shower ever. Liked the good food. Just enjoy and relaxed. A little gem. Andrew and staff,... Ok.. where should I start. Yes, you can go sailing, walk to the village by a 20 minute hike through the forest which also serves as a home for many many spiders. You could also be lying on a hammock and look at the beach. When me and my friends arrived at the island, it was quite different than what... More

Relaxing island with low budget lodge. The departure form Kasenyi landing point was well organized and after 3.15 hours you arrive on a beach far away from Kampala (e.g. no phone and internet connection). The dinner and breakfast was good (for the price of the stay). You can have a nice walk of 2.5 km to the village (unfortunately the... More

I went a few months ago with a big group from Kampala. It rained all weekend and although it would be better if it hadn't - it's such an idyllic 'beach' location to sunbathe, swim and read - we still had a great time! Certainly enough to keep you entertained. Walk to the village, swimming, explore the island (and the... More

I should have written my review 9 months ago. I went to Banda Island last year in June with a bunch of cool friends. We had the best time together at the Island. It has the best location for people who love to have some adventure. The service is really good. Andy, is the best manager. he always works to... More

Do you need a break from the traffic of Kampala? Do you want to forget that you actually live in a city? You don’t have so much time? Well, this is the place for you then! With dorms, tents (but with mattresses!) and cottages, this place at a 2.5 hours boat ride from Entebbe offers a full-board and inexpensive, but... More

Stayed on the island for 4 nights and not even two tropical storms could diminish the great experience I had! Andrew and the other staff are very friendly, sociable people who love to help whenever they can! Loved sailing on the lake and visiting the village. The food is incredible, and so is of course, the cold beers. 100% would... More

Great place to unwind. Can chill out on hammocks, lie on the beach, walk across the island and check out the village on the other side, head out on a small sail boat, have a few drinks in front of the beach side campfire. All good! Only down side is the website advertised kayaks, and there were no kayaks to... More
