As others have mentioned, Jinja isn't really known for its nice hotels. That being said, I would definitely recommend this hotel. We stayed for almost 2 weeks while on a business trip. Rooms- the rooms vary quite a bit. My first room had a big 4 post bed with a mini fridge, and was pretty spacious. The bathroom, though, had... More

This hotel has been neglected,i slept in a tiny single room next to the road but i could tell that the wall paper, furniture amongst other items in the room had not been refurbished in over 10 years. I had to call the reception to get me a rug for the bathroom.the bathroom was a tiny cubicle squashed together with a... More

This is one of those hotels I would like to skewer in a review--a very tired, not-so-clean, small and poorly-designed room, an outright lie that there was (working) in-room internet (the internet was woeful in the whole place) and food that rhymes with "Nile." But I have yet to find a good hotel in Jinja, so I would have to... More

You'll get a hot shower, a good breakfast, and many normal hotel amenities. The rooms aren't that nice, are a bit old, but does the trick. I'm not sure how much it was (paid through our tour) - I'm guessing it was good value.

When I was looking for somewhere to celebrate a special birthday there was only one place to go. Jinja and the Nile. And for me that means staying at Sunset Hotel (this was my third visit). Are there more luxurious hotels in town? Probably. But we like its slightly shabby look. Everything works, it's clean, comfortable and secure. It feels... More

I was part of a school group about 18 of us including staff. We were fairly spread out but that didn't matter. Beds were fantastic with mosquito nets covering all the duvet etc. Bathroom wasn't great with cracks in the bath and tiles dirty was very hard for any relaxing wash to occur. Views were superb overlooking Jinga and the... More

I spent a weekend there, when we first arrived they couldn't find our reservation although they sent us a confirmation email but the manager was nice and he was able to get me an executive room with a very nice Nile view. The room itself is OK, it's not luxurious but it's clean and the furniture is also ok..given the... More

Good welcoming staff who go beyond their confort to see that I was confortable especially when i was going to have a meal in their chinese restaurant. Though the food took averagely 30mins to get ready, it was worth the wait....the chef is ready to give you extra gravy if you ask for more. That was a plus. I would... More

We thought it would useful to do as many of the more mid budget hotels as possible in Jinja this trip and the Sunset was a pleasant if somewhat quirky surprise. They layout is, as been mentioned a bit colonial modern revamp gone wrong, but it’s not without its niceties. Unusually this hotel deals in US dollars, but does not... More
