We were slightly apprehensive about arriving at Fundu Lagoon after reading one derisory entry on Trip Advisor. Immediately on arrival it became clear that this was totally misleading, and cannot believe these people were in the same place! Fundu Lagoon is in an idyllic setting on a beautiful beach, although the the tide can go out quite a long way.... More

I was at Fundu in July 2006 for my honeymoon. Perhaps because it was winter, the service was terrible. We actually waited for 1h for a toast! The location is great, the hotel is very nice, although we were expecting a bit more. Not even a welcome gift for our honeymoon like we got in the hotels we been before... More

You have to deserve the trip, that´s why it will take you a bit of time to get there, but honestly it´s worth it. The location is unique, the bungalows are great, stunning view, the people really nice and careful, and the food is amazing. The dive centre and its team were sweet, relax professionals, making you feel confident about... More

We have just returned from a 2 week visit to Pemba Island. 5 days at Fundu lagoon and 5 at Manta reef. We decided to split the holiday into 2 so that we could get an overall impression. We essentially went for the diving. Fundu lagoon was absolutely wonderful. The food was exceptionally good and the service top notch. The... More

My husband and I have recently returned from a trip to Africa, part of which included a 9 night stay at Fundu Lagoon. This is a fantastic 5 star level resort with great service and attention from the staff and management team. Bungalows are roomy and well equipped. Swimming pool is great. Food quality very good. Getting to the resort... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at Fundu Lagoon for 5 nights, and after a very long journey (London to Dar Es Salaam, to Zanzibar then Pemba) we were exhausted and nervous if coming all this way was worth it. We should not have been worried. The location is superb, remote location set next to the beach built with the local... More

Fundu Lagoon, An incredible place, our first time to Zanzibar & Pemba and not the last, this hotel is fantastique, The staff are efficient and very friendly, all the activities were carefully organised and not a margin of error, We were very surprised to find that the chef was not European, the food was great, Thank you everyone, we will... Fundu Lagoon is the nicest place we've ever been! No concrete, all built in natural materials, wood, ropes and palm leaves, an amazing design, excellent service and naturally friendly staff. The only problem is that the food is so good that one cannot avoid gaining weight! Definitely a place to recommend for honymooners and divers who enjoy a quiet and... More

I am so pleased the most recent reviews for Fundu Lagoon are all excellent - as indeed the resort deserves. The staff have worked extremely hard to create an idyllic paradise and have exceeded. I do believe that perhaps there were initial teething problems with this resort - it’s in the middle of no where and in the jungle with... More

The previous review is spot on. We also can't say enough about Fundu - it's unique and after travelling to many of the 'best' resorts, this is the one that stands out as being genuine whilst still providing 6-star service across the board. The management and staff are exceptional. Beautiful location on the beach for our bungalow, which was so... More
