Recently returned from Kervan Saray Beach Lodge and Swahili Divers for the IV'th time and want to update my previous review from last year. Absolutely amazing,is the consistency of the diving, food and accommodations from year to year. Once again I am at home planing the next visit back in February or March of next year. This year we saw... More

After being on the road for three long weeks I gladly welcomed the laid back peace and quiet of Kervan Saray. We were collected from the airport and arrived after about and hour and a half. Our room was simply furnished with a large platform bed and huge mosquito net and serviced daily. The bathrooms were open to the outside... More

We just returned from an all-too-brief stay at Kervan Saray Lodge. This has to be one of the most remote locations we have ever visited, about a 1.5 hour drive from the Pemba airstrip to the north end of the island. The lodge is composed of several thatched-roof bungalows, an open-air dining/bar/lounge and an office/dive shop. Located right on the... More

We just returned from Pemba after 11nights at Kervan Saray and 8 days double tank diving with the Swahili Divers, which belong to the resort. We choosed Pemba for a scuba diving location cause its said, that diving there is amongst the top of the world. We both are advanced divers with over 130 dives allover the world. The owners... More

This review relates to a period in the past at Swahili Divers. It mimics a previous review posted here. As I have said before- The Dive Manager's performance was not up to par. The General Manger fired him on the spot. As the reader can see from our even more recent reviews the Kervan Saray and Swahili Divers are back... More

Me and my boyfriend spent at Swahili divers two amazing weeks just at the beginning of small raining season. Diving was absolutely amazing, same as place itself. We would definitely like to come back soon. Kervan Saray Beach Lodge, more known as Swahili divers, is a place to visit. Located in the end of the beach, between traditional African villages,... 14 days of diving and basic touring around with Swahili Divers really embodied the African experience in a traditionally appointed Safari Lodge setting. The diving is incredible and in between driving reef walls and white sand beaches the cultural side of the experience is prevalent. Accommodations: All of the rooms are single or duplex buildings with a private foot path... More

We went to the Lodge for a relaxing week and a visit to Pemba. Although the lodge is about 1 hour north from the airport, Eddie picked us up on time and drove us to the property. Rooms were very comfortable and cleaned everyday. The bathroom has some open space so the door needed, to be kept closed to keep... More

I spent three days with Swahili Divers on Pemba Island and it was a highlight of my scuba diving experiences. This is not a luxury lodge: If you are after luxury room service, you would not find it; neither not a martini in the hand to tan on the beach. It could possibly be described as a diving safari camp.... More

We stayed at Kervan Saray Beach Lodge for 3 nights and went there mostly for diving. The accomodation wasn´t very clean (the bedings and towels were stained with old blood rests from crushed insects), the room/bathroom wasn´t entirely closed so there were all kind of insects wandering around (a few big spidders, centipedes, grasshopers, etc.) it was "ok"as accomodation if... Management response:

Dear TL73lux, Thank you for your review. I am very happy that my manager Rueben and my Pemban team looked after you so well when you stayed with us. I had hoped to be there when you arrived but Francisca and I were in Zambia for a week exploring new safari options for our guests. I am so sorry that... More

We had a paid reservation for 3 nights we left in under 24 hours. I am really in shock to see that people would give this place 4.5 stars. This is one of the worst hotels I have ever been to. The rooms are filthy dirty. The towels and pillows were stained and missing pillow covers. There are no windows... More

I really don't know how to respond to this review- it is riddled with statements that are inconsistent with the reality. I have been expecting it for a few weeks now. I was there when this guest arrived, and she started her stay by shouting at my manager about the photos on the website. There was so much commotion, I... More
