Stone Camp at Mkhaya is a wonderful and different Lodge I have been there 5 times now with different clients and all have loved it. This lodge has a unique charm about it and is very different from any other you have been to. First of all they pick you up in the 4x4 and transport you to the main... More

We love that you keep coming back with friends and groups! Thanks for a great review and embracing the bush as we believe it should be. Nature's Magic is in her simplicity - and Mkhaya aims to enhance this. We wish you many more lantern and star-lit nights! More

We have spent two nights in the camp. Everything was perfect. If you are a nature friend that want to spend time in the bush as close as possible from nature, this is you pick. Game drives, bush walk, all was at the top. Our guide was really good and knew a lot about the fauna. Food was nice and... More

We did the overnight package, being picked up at 10am and departing at 4pm the next day to make the most of it, and I think that was just the right amount of time. Any longer and we'd be repeating the routine, and any shorter then we'd have missed the morning bush walk, which was the main reason we wanted... More

Wonderful to hear you appreciated the special "adventure" that is very much Mkhaya! Thank you for your review and lovely details. Regarding the fast drive out - that is not what we aim to achieve, no matter the weather. The comfort of our guests is paramount. This has been communicated to our Manager. Our staff are typically very shy, many... More

We stayed at Stone Camp for 1 night. It is an all inclusive package (without the drinks) which gives it a not so adventerous-vibe. The arrangement is perfect though, everything has been done a thousand times before and you notice that. The lodge we stayed at was beautiful. It really gives you the feeling of sleeping in the open air.... More

Thank you for your review - great to hear you enjoyed Mkhaya's Stone Camp! Mkhaya does have a healthy elephant herd, although not often seen. Mkhaya is Swaziland's Rfuge for Endangered Species, with Swaziland's only populations of Sable Antelope, Tsessebe and Buffalo - thus we have taken a very specific decision not to introduce lion - along with the Roan... We stayed at Stone Camp for almost 3 days, 2 nights. The agency forgot to tell us that the pick up time at the meeting point is at 10 or at 16...anyway we spent the time talking and playing with the children there (amazing couple of hours in this sort of no-place in the middle of the dust). The camp... More

After a short game drive, we arrived at the camp. The cottage (without windows) was so romantic, lit by oil lamps. We appreciated the hot water bottle in the bed. Although the accomodation is a little expensive, we highly recommend this experience.

We had a great stay at Mkhaya Game Reserve. Game watch with our driver was fantastic and we were very lucky. Since we were the only guests for morning drive, lunch and evening drive we had a real private atmosphere. Lunch was rich and service was great, much more than we expected at such a remote place. After evening drive... More

We stayed 24 hrs in Mkhaya Game reserve. 1600-1600 with the walking safari. Very informative guide. Wonderfull setting with only parafin lights during the night. Good gamedrives plus walk included in price.

The setting and especially the arrival with all the oil lamps on is something we won't forget for long. We expected that rangers had more knowledge of where for example the black rhino's are staying and thus could try to "arrange"/serach for an encounter.

Compared to comparably priced camps in South Africa this was over-priced and lacked in a lot of the service, punctuality and meal quality of those camps. Arriving 45 mins before the 4pm check in (you can only check in at 10am or 4pm) we had to sit and wait for the landrover to arrive. The problem with this check-in is... More
