For only $50 we had a lovely, comfortable room in the garden. It looked like a little church from the outside. Inside, the room was beautiful, charming and comfortable. Nice breakfast. Highly recommended.

We spent 3 nights at Ibis hotel in June. We stayed in the newer building at the back of the property which was some of the more affordable rooms. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. The beds are awful with thin foam mattress which we sunk right through. The rooms get quite cold at night. The bathroom light didn't... More

Found this property to be only okay and debated a poor rating. For its location it is okay. On the up side there was free Internet in the conference room. On the downside the beds were hard and mosquito netting barely large enough (so kept flopping in all night). Toilet was also a bit dicey, made sure to look before... More

The quality is reasonable if you look at the price. We would recommend this as a stop-over hotel. Not much to do in Butare, national museum worth a visit (within -long- walking distance). Breakfast in hotel is failry simple. Staff not caring. Find a place to have dinner outside of the hotel, but not many place where they provide a... More

We stayed at the Ibis Butare for four nights. The room was clean and neat, even though it could use a renovation. The service was good. The internet connection was to be found at the conference hall and was adequate for sending and receieving emails, but not anything else.

I stayed in Room 1, which had a lounge as well as the bedroom and bathroom. The furniture is very dated and the bathroom (as well as the decor) needs upgrading. No internet (except in the conference room) and no TV in the room. Breakfast was adequate and the meals in the restaurant was acceptable (and not very expensive). I... More

We had two large room with a bathroom at one end of them. Beds were OK and one of the rooms even had a reading light (not cosy, but efficient luxury!). Staff were friendly. They opened a conference room where we could access internet (own computer). Breakfast was OK and the snack bar served a very nice dinner. Location in... More

We stayed at the Ibis Hotel in Butare during our roundtrip in July 2012 and we had a pleasant stay at the Hotel. The Service was very good and all our wishes were granted. The restaurant was very good as was the breakfast. The mosquito net was usable as well. Only in the rooms of the main building which where... More

The Ibis has three great things going for it: location, camping option, and decent restaurant on a spacious terrace overlooking the action on Kigali Road. Oh, and the best goat samosa I've had in my life. We are traveling for a year in an old Landy with rooftop tent so we prefer to camp. In big cities or large towns,... More

I will stay somewhere else next time I'm in town. When I checked out, their credit card machine was broken and it was Sunday so banks were closed. Because of that I had to pay in USD cash, and they insisted on giving me a terrible exchange rate which made the bill significantly more expensive than it should have been.... More
