The hotel has basics accomodation, know that prior to your stay. It doesn't look good from the outside, I was a bit scared it was just an old motel renovated. The room was big and clean, and the bed was very comfortable which is the most important after all. We were there during the week-end of the marathon so we... More

This place is fine. I was there for work in the area on and off though out the winter/spring of 2011. The hot tub is great at the end of the day. The continental break fast is pitiful but there is a good bakery down the road on the way into Lake Placid village. The beds are comfy, the staff... More

nice location. not very clean hotel and rooms. very very basic one night only motel. pool wasnt very clean, very cold, and cloudy water. (my son found 3 plasters in the pool) the breakfast area had 3 chairs and had 3 items to eat and coffee. all this for $142.00! not good value. the guy on reception did his best... More

We absolutely loved this hotel. We stayed as a family in 2 rooms: 4 adts, 2 teens and 2 kids under 12. We had 2nd floor adjoining rooms (not connecting, though) , near the first floor indoor pool and spa. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, cushy pillow-top beds. Large refrigerator. Indoor corridor *and* outdoor access. Loved the sliding patio doors... More

We recently stayed here in the beginning of October and had a great night. Out of our 4 night vacation from VT to Placid, this was by far our best stay. Was it a Ritz Carlton? No. But we are the average traveler - not able to afford to dump hundreds a night just to put our heads down. We... More

Basically this is an as advertised economy motel. We stayed at this hotel because it was pretty much the last one left with rooms available during peak season. It is not really within walking distance of downtown Lake Placid, but parking is pretty plentiful in town for a reasonable price (5.00 a day). The trolley does stop at the hotel,... More

I'm sorry to say, the hotel has had its glory days and now we can see it's aged. Situated in the beautiful Lake Placid area, this Econo Lodge does not have the greatest outside appearance. And even worse is that the rooms and facilities need a good facelift. It is not a pleasant view when the bathroom ceiling is all... More

not impressed, would not take my shoes off to walk on the carpet, the room smelled and the bathroom ceiling had rust marks all over it. I stayed here because my husband would not listen to me and chose to ingore the fact that I could have booked the Crowne Plaza for an extra $20 so we ended up here,... More

We booked a room at the EconoLodge but due to front desk mix up we wound up in the Carriage House Motel across the street - owned by the same people I guess - and we were shocked at how nice it was. Obviously its a motel, so keep expectations realistic. But the room was immaculate, the bed was super... More

We stayed at the Econo Lodge over Valentine's weekend. Rooms were very comfortable, and the free wireless internet service was fast, required no setup and worked great. The staff was very helpful - we were able to check in early and the room cleaning was done around our schedule. Location is great, too - minutes away from Whiteface and Olympic... More
