If you are staying in an Econo Lodge, then usually this is driven by financial restrictions on your budget. Also, many Econo Lodges are in the $50-60 price range, and you have low expectations of the experience for the amount paid. The Econo Lodge in Lake Placid is not a cheap option with rates more than $130 a night for... More

In laws stayed here the week after Iron Man Lake Placid. The first room they were checked into was quarantined and smelled like something FOUL.(maybe bed bugs, possibly a dead cat -- who knows) They were moved to a room down the hall and were still charged full price for their stay ! I even caught a maid EATING in... More

This is your basic chain hotel with a continental breakfast. The staff is very friendly. the room was a good size and clean. My only overall complaint about the hotel, it needs new carpeting in the common areas. Lots of stains and the smell wasn't great. The hotel is clean, but sometimes stains and smell can not be removed.

Summer high season in Lake Placid is more expensive than many of the surrounding areas / towns. This property takes advantage of the market and charges more because they can. The property is not too far from town - on the Keene Valley side, closer to ADK Loj and Ski Jumps, Bobsledding. Staff (front desk, housekeeping) is friendly and helpful.... More

Have been coming here for college reunion and rugby tournament for at least 15 years and have watched the condition go downhill. Service has also declined steadily. This year, with a new manager in place, was the worst yet. Room was not clean to my expectations such as paper or something in corner of bathroom floor upon arrival and still... More

We did a 5-day motorcycle trip. Of the three different hotels/motels we stayed at over a 5 day stretch, this one (the last hotel we stayed at before heading home) had, by far, the most comfortable bed. Thank God! With that said - the room wasn't quite ready when we checked in, but they were finished before I completely unload... More

Needed a room for 2 nights and almost everything in the area was booked so Economy Lodge was it. The place is badly in need of renovation and a good cleaning. The chairs were stained and the carpet was dirty. We told housekeeping so they blamed the vacuum cleaner but did vacuum the rug. The entire room needed dusting, the... More

We stayed here because rates at the other area hotels were crazy in July. It is in a good location if you are a high peaks climber, but that's about all I can say positive about it. It needs remodeling inside and out. The toilet had remnants from the last occupant in it. The tub is so short you will... More

Great location on Cascade road between the ski jumps and Main Street attractions the motel is clean and quiet. The pool and jacuzzi was a welcome treat, the wifi was as well. The breakfast choices---ehhhh. The rules were excessive that had to be signed/initialed for and I've honestly never heard of paying to use the inroom safe! All in all... More

This was a last minute decision to respond to the hiking call. It filled our need for a night's stay close to the trail. It was clean, had a small refrigerator that kept our food for the next day cold. The clerk was willing to help us out with coffee for an early morning get away.
