My girlfriend and I spent two nights here while we explored Lake Placid. The interior of the lodge is decorated in beautiful exposed wood, and accented with countless Adirondack antiques, making the place feel timeless. Our room was incredibly comfortable, with a king-sized bed, sitting area, and enormous bathroom with both a shower and jacuzzi tub. The lodge is situated... More

I regularly travel and have had many experiences staying at several different B&B's. Upon arriving at this beautifully renovated 1890's home, the first thing I noticed was the large porch which extends around the front and sides of the house. It has natural wood floors with carved wooden panel surroundings. We were welcomed by Red (owner). He showed us where... More

This was the 5th time we have stayed at the Paradox Lodge and will always be the place we stay when visiting the Lake Placid area! So peaceful and relaxing. Close enough to walk to town for shopping and eating. Nearby are so many wonderful hiking trails, and New York does a great job maintaining them. Nan and Red know... More

We are experienced travelers, highly recommend Paradox Lodge, and would certainly stay again. We stayed in the Jenkins Room (Cedar Lodge) for four nights. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and had wonderful character. The large modern bathroom was perfect for us; tub for my wife, shower for me. The king-size bed was very comfortable; I slept like a log. My... More

We had the chance to stay at Paradox Lodge this past weekend. Our first experience with a B&B of this type but loved it so much that we will not stay any other place when we visit Lake Placid. We were close enough to town to walk but also far enough to get away from the hustle of main street.... More

As always, we look forward to our stay at the Paradox. This time we had the Whitney room. It was beautiful & very comfortable. The rooms that we've had are all lovely & very clean. When we arrive, we are always greeted by Nan (owner). Her warmth & genuine caring personality is very delightful & always makes us feel welcome... More

Paradox Lodge has become, for my wife and I, an irresistible destination of choice. In regards to traveling, my wife and I generally pride ourselves in meticulous research when it comes to quality, character and charm in the many places and locations that we stay…and Paradox Lodge does NOT disappoint…year after year. Deservedly so, the cozy bed-and-breakfast ALWAYS provides a... More

We stayed at the Paradox for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfasts were wonderful - delicious scrambled or fried eggs (with one additional choice each day of pancakes or French toast), toast, potatoes, unlimited coffee and tea. Each breakfast started with a delicious fresh fruit cup and was different each day. We enjoyed our breakfast each day... More

The free canoe/kayak usage after a wonderful breakfast just made our stay even better. Would highly recommend staying here. Our bed was super comfortable and all amenities were taken care of. There is no TV in the room which was fine by us!

Stayed 2 nights at Cedar Lodge with my valentine for our anniversary. We chose the Paradox because we were looking for something different... and got exactly that. Great service, excellent food, relaxing atmosphere, and a warm quiet room. Life has been busy and staying at the Paradox was a perfect place to unwind. Also, we have decided... since you can't...
