Attended the Women's Retreat for Managing Stress and Cultivating Resilience hosted by Nan LaFountaine at Paradox Lodge. A wonderful Retreat conducted by Amy Kohanski of Stepping Stones: Pathway to Peace and treated to the culinary delights of Chef Red LaFountaine. Truly rejuvenating! Came away with new and helpful ways to deal with stress, learned about herbs and their qualities to... More

Stayed there for the second time and it was just as good as the first. The hosts where wonderful and the room was decked out in perfect Adirondack charm. The breakfast was a big plus! Location is a reasonable 8 minute walk to Main Street. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the Cedar Lodge. The room was beautiful, with a fireplace stove, which we made excellent use of, and a deck, less so (the weather was too cold for us to spend time outside, unfortunately, but in warmer weather it would have been very nice). There was also a lovely bathroom with a jacuzzi bath, rain-head shower and... More

The Paradox Lodge is a great place to stay if you are going away with your significant other and can cope without television. Our room was well maintained and very clean. The bed was also extremely comfortable. My boyfriend and I appreciated having a bucket of ice in our room everyday after we had only asked for some ice on... More

It was our first stay at the Paradox Lodge and it was fantastic. I had contacted Nan to see if Chef Moses would prepare dinner for my husbands 66 birthday . I had read that this was only being done for parties of six or more. The exception was made and the Filet Mignon dinner was the BEST we had... More

Great service, soft towels, immaculate, warm hospitality, awesome breakfast, warm and inviting! Can't get better than that! Oh, and the soap and mineral water just add to the already delightful experience. Natalie D'Angelo 11x award winning graphic designer New York

We stayed here at the Paradox Lodge over MLK weekend from Friday to Monday. As soon as we arrived on Friday evening Nan greeted us and made us feel right at home. The place was well kept and very clean. Each morning Nan and Red prepared breakfast for us and the reviews say it all. It was amazing. The owners... More

The reviews say it all, but it doesn't hurt to confirm the highlights. Fantastic breakfasts, hospitable hosts, and eclectic decor. Paradox has just enough rooms and space to feel cozy and comfortable among other travelers. No complaints here. 10 min walk into town which, even on a cold night, is very convenient.

We've stayed at both Paradox lodge and Cedar lodge several times now, in both summer and fall, and just love the location, the accommodations, the food and the hospitality! The rooms are very cozy and comfortable and we love the eclectic Adirondack charm. Beautiful spot on the bay, with boats available and an incredible view of Whiteface - also within... More

If you're looking for something authentic and unique look no further. The owners, Nan and Moses were both accommodating and wonderful. My wife and I recently stayed the weekend to celebrate our 8th anniversary and they obviously intended to take good care of us on our special weekend. Both owners were relaxed and conversational and Moses made us some of... More
