We stayed here at the Paradox Lodge over MLK weekend from Friday to Monday. As soon as we arrived on Friday evening Nan greeted us and made us feel right at home. The place was well kept and very clean. Each morning Nan and Red prepared breakfast for us and the reviews say it all. It was amazing. The owners... More

The reviews say it all, but it doesn't hurt to confirm the highlights. Fantastic breakfasts, hospitable hosts, and eclectic decor. Paradox has just enough rooms and space to feel cozy and comfortable among other travelers. No complaints here. 10 min walk into town which, even on a cold night, is very convenient.

We've stayed at both Paradox lodge and Cedar lodge several times now, in both summer and fall, and just love the location, the accommodations, the food and the hospitality! The rooms are very cozy and comfortable and we love the eclectic Adirondack charm. Beautiful spot on the bay, with boats available and an incredible view of Whiteface - also within... More

If you're looking for something authentic and unique look no further. The owners, Nan and Moses were both accommodating and wonderful. My wife and I recently stayed the weekend to celebrate our 8th anniversary and they obviously intended to take good care of us on our special weekend. Both owners were relaxed and conversational and Moses made us some of... More

My husband and I have stayed at a lot of B and B's and have a certain expectation of a room worth $175. There are some definite good things about the inn - great porch, nice that boats are available, very good breakfast and clean. Our room was disappointing. The bathroom was incredibly tiny. I was excited about the tub,... More

In our 15 plus years of operating the B&B we have never had a guest find so much fault with one of our rooms. We do not understand why someone would not say something if the room did not meet their expectations. Instead they waited until they got home and wrote it in their review. We were never given the... We stayed two nights at the Paradox Lodge. This is such a charming place ! Inside the lodge, the walls are made of woods and decorated with many paintings, posters and Adirondacks artifacts. We received a very warm welcome from our hosts, Nan and Moses. We were woken up by the smell of good coffee and nice breakfast - and... More

My girlfriend and I spent two nights here while we explored Lake Placid. The interior of the lodge is decorated in beautiful exposed wood, and accented with countless Adirondack antiques, making the place feel timeless. Our room was incredibly comfortable, with a king-sized bed, sitting area, and enormous bathroom with both a shower and jacuzzi tub. The lodge is situated... More

I regularly travel and have had many experiences staying at several different B&B's. Upon arriving at this beautifully renovated 1890's home, the first thing I noticed was the large porch which extends around the front and sides of the house. It has natural wood floors with carved wooden panel surroundings. We were welcomed by Red (owner). He showed us where... More

This was the 5th time we have stayed at the Paradox Lodge and will always be the place we stay when visiting the Lake Placid area! So peaceful and relaxing. Close enough to walk to town for shopping and eating. Nearby are so many wonderful hiking trails, and New York does a great job maintaining them. Nan and Red know... More

We are experienced travelers, highly recommend Paradox Lodge, and would certainly stay again. We stayed in the Jenkins Room (Cedar Lodge) for four nights. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and had wonderful character. The large modern bathroom was perfect for us; tub for my wife, shower for me. The king-size bed was very comfortable; I slept like a log. My... More
