I cannot recommend staying at this hotel. I was appalled by the condition of my room. The floors were dirty, the wall paper peeling, cob webs, damaged furniture and the list goes on. There was no proper heating and our room was freezing. There was a rolling space heater. It took 5 minutes for the hot water to come on.... More

It is an unusual place, very comfortable, greatest bed ever, Jill, owner, is very pleasant and helpful. With some major renovations it would be terrific, the decor is tired and needs some cleaning, our room was comfortable but walking the stairs was tedious and the only place for wifi was in the first floor lounge room. After climbing the stairs... More

This place is excellent! Stayed for 4 nights Couldn't have been more satisfied Granted the hotel is an old building but the rooms are very clean Especially the sheets! Great charm and can't say enough about the owners Extremely genuine people who will do anything to make your stay more pleasant Its a 2 minute drive to the center of... More

We arrived about 1 in the afternoon after driving for 5 hours with a toddler, only to find a sign on the desk that no one was available until 3 pm for check-in. Once we went back, was informed that there was no elevator, but someone could help with luggage as they had a service elevator. Our room was on... More

We stayed with several friends recently and had a great time. From the moment you enter the front door you sense that old-world charm with a Bavarian flare that this hotel captures. Warm, rustic, inviting. Greeted by the owner Jill and immediately felt welcomed. Rooms were very clean, memory foam bed was perfect. Temperature was very cold outside but rooms... More

What a pretty throw back to an earlier time. The Pines Inn was originally built around 1910. Its old its quaint but best of all its a mom and pop operation. Jill and Frank run the Pines basically single handed. They work hard keeping this century old hotel running. You see them doing everything. Front desk, housekeeping, building maintenance, bookkeeping,... More

The hotel is charming, we were there during a very down time of year. The price was certainly right. Rooms were pretty clean, the bathrooms could us a bit of an update but were pretty clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Even in the cold, the hotel is not far from all the shopping and dining in the Village.

My husband and I flew to Lake Placid for a weekend getaway. I got our room quite cheap on the internet. The hotel is quaint and very comfortable. Our room was clean and homey and the bed was very comfortable. We had no extras, room service etc. and the bar down stairs was closed for the season but we wanted... More

First, we'd not been to this inn over 15 years - when it was St-Mortiz - even then it had a quaintness about it (no working elevator back then as well) - it was just very down to earth. Fast forward to 2014, we work w/e's - so taking a nice break during the fall foliage season when rates are... More

Good location, just off the main drag and Mirror Lake, and nice public spaces, but we experienced so many drawbacks that I cannot recommend the Inn. First, there is no elevator -- we had to walk FIVE full flights of stairs (which became ever narrower) from the parking lot to our room. Renovation was going on in the hallway immediately... More
