The hotel is centrally located, easy to find, quiet, and very nice. We loved the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. All went out of their way to be helpful, and gave us great tips for good restaurants and activities in the area. Though the hotel is a bit older, it was very clean and a nice place to stay.

The location is something that you can't beat with this Hotel. Steps out of the door and you can walk to the main drag of Lake Placid or take the hiking/walking trail around Mirror Lake. We stayed here because our dog was allowed to stay over for a small fee. The breakfast was included and just fine. The room has... More

Yes, there are some areas of the hotel that are under renovation but the areas that aren't look great. The remote in the living room of our suite didn't work. We called down at one point for extra pillows which never came. The room itself was huge and had just been renovated and was really nice and a bargain for... More

Upon reading all the negative reviews I was hesitant to book at the Summit. This was a last minute trip so I called around looking for rooms and rates. Upon calling the lady who took my reservation was very helpful and informative. She immediately informed me that the pool was closed due to rennovations and as my husband and I... More

The outside is a bit shabby but by the looks of the lobby you could be fooled that this is a nicer hotel. My room was on the second floor and i noticed that my choice was the stairs or a long walk through the entire first floor to a single rickety, albeit, dangerous elevator in which the buttons were... This hotel was the worst hotel that I have stayed at in Lake Placid ever - We travel to Lake Placid frequently and decided to try this hotel I asked for a jacuzzi room and I got a one person Tub with jets . The cost of the room was $120.00 off season in which was very high. the room... More

My friend & I booked our room at the Summit for a weekend getaway, very much looking forward to hanging out relaxing by the pool, or quietly reading in our room. A time for relaxation that we both sorely needed. The lobby & staff were wonderful & welcoming. We hoped this was a sign of how things were to be... More

I know this as I was in 3 rooms. The first (at 2 am) had hairy sheets. The kind and hardworking front desk employee found 2 other rooms for us to choose from. Who doesn't cover their 20 year old mattresses with a mattress cover?

We stayed here in the middle of March. The location is fabulous, but it's probably overpriced for the quality you get. The entire hotel needs major upgrades. Our mattress was so worn it caved in the middle. The corners of the desk were broken, and tub wasn't exactly sparkling. The staff were very courteous and attentive, free continental breakfast was... First I will say that everyone we encountered as employees were very courteous and friendly but... that alone can not make up for other things. When we got into rooms (2 connecting rooms) , we had to call to get one toilet "unclogged," there were stains on the sheets, stains and tears in the carpet, all sorts of things floating... More
