The location is good. It has the potential to be much better, but it's not. The room was "clean" but it could use a deep-cleaning. I think other reviewers said it gets used for hockey camps and tournaments. Feels about right for that. The price is high for what you're getting, but it's the location. Everything around it is higher.... More

I would agree that the hotel is dated. However it is well maintained and very clean. Excellent location to the main strip. Nice to be able to walk from the hotel to downtown. The service from time of booking on the phone with Sarah, to the time we checking out was great. All the staff that we dealt with were... More

The rate definitely indicates the value. It was sufficiently clean, but dated and nothing extraordinary. I was there on a business trip and was enticed by the significantly lower rate than other properties, but I definitely got what I paid for. I think there are better options for travelers looking for a relaxing stay and a nice hotel. I'll probably... More

Stayed here for a weekend training trip. Friends and I got their family suite, which is basically 2 connected 2 queen bed rooms with one door. The room has 2 bathrooms, and a small fridge. It was not the cleanest place, with stains on the ceiling (watermarks), and dirty carpet. At one point, my friend dropped some popcorn, and ants... More

My son had stayed here years ago with CanAm hockey camp and I have stayed here before. It was ok but this time it was the most miserable 2 nights. The beds are horrible, it smelled of smoke (which we complained about), it was dirty (inc air conditioner filter). There was an undershirt on the floor which means nobody cleaned... More

We enjoy staying at The Summit in Lake placid. 6 couples have been staying there, once a year, for 3 consecutive years. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We have made room changes easily and group reservations have been honored. The staff, especially Robin, Mark and Sarah were helpful and friendly. They even provided us a room to gather and... More

I was booked for a training conference at High Peaks but, due to overflow, was redirected to the Summit. Holy mother of eff! I investigate welfare fraud for a living and I have been in some of NY's worst projects and housing authorities for work - this hotel, or should I say, motel; is almost on par with many of... More

This Hotel has a convenient location, being 5 minutes' walk from Main St where you have the usual touristic shops and beautiful views of Lake Mirror. The Hotel does have a scenic large comfortable lobby, but the staff are biz-courteos. The rooms require updates, beds are comfortable, corridors and elevator require attention from house-keeping. All the minor and minute shortcomings... More

After reading so many negative reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about our 2 night stay here during the Memorial day. However, the negative reviews were a bit overblown. Yes - the hotel is dated somewhat; however, for the price and the location, I think it's a good option in Lake Placid. The main street is right at the bottom... More

we visit this hotel a couple of times a year for the past 15 years. the last visit I was amazed at the changes. the price went up. no more free breakfast.we were told to use the restaurant down stairs. not cheap.went they put the price up they shouldn't take of a breakfast. that's a win win situation.
