We were at Camp Solitude in early August. The wonderful history of the property is well covered in the previous posts, so I will leave that alone. Wonderful great camp built in 1896 Furnished with original antiques. VERY dog friendly Owner will not allow you to come WITHOUT your dog. Great rates. Great hiking trails. Large waterfront. Bring your boat. Lake placid is a very clean lake, great for scuba divers. Great food. more

Camp Solitude is like re-living the Adirondacks of 1920.
