The cabins have been refinished and looked stunning from the road. However, the bed I stayed in folded up like a gordita. I had back pain after about 4 hours of sleep. The drain-pipe on the bathroom sink wasn't connected and spilled water on the floor. I gave up on hot water after a couple minutes. If this issues were... more

We stayed at the Cobble Mountain Lodge for 5 nights while visiting Lake Placid during the Jul 4th weekend.Our main reason for choosing this was to get the true Adirondack experiance of staying in a real log cabin with a kitchenette so we could cook simple meals. Just returned from 2 nights at Cobble Mountain Lodge.The cabin we stayed in was #17.Here goes......First the good. Very clean cabin.New appliances in kitchen. Marvelous adirondack decor.Nice gas fireplace.New countertops,cool twig and bark lamps in bedroom.Reasonable price,esp. for lake placid. Now the Bad......... This motel and cabins is a short car ride from the main shopping/tourist area of Lake Placid. It's right across from the golf course. Excellent prices for lodging in a nice setting. They allow you to bring along your pets.Very nice rooms and cabins. more
