We spent a lovely 2 nights at the cabins in December 2015 The cabins are just as described in the previous reviews... small but very cozy and quaint! The area is beautiful and we really enjoyed our little cabin! We didn't make use of the kitchen except for tea and coffee but there were a bunch of pots and pans... More

We rented one of the cabins (the Iroquois) as our base for a long day hike up Marcy and Skylight. The property was easy to find, very quiet, fantastic views, and comfortable! Cabins have all the amenities you need to cook and feed yourself, Adirondack chairs for relaxing outside, common firepit and picnic tables, wifi, and an excellent host! Would... More

Great stay at Van Hoevenberg Cabins. Keep in mind that this is not a 5 star hotel but a Cabin so no chamber maids to clean up after you. Very rustic atmosphere & great experience. We rented the Algonquin Cabin that sleeps four people. My teen aged son enjoyed sleeping in the loft & loved his own little space. Our... More

The cabins are no-frills but priced accordingly. The owner, Wayne, is a nice guy who knows a lot about the area. We stayed in the Marcy cabin for two nights over Valentine's Day weekend. You get a fridge, stove w/ pots and pans, coffee maker, warm heat, linens, a double bed, and a table with two chairs. Everything was clean.... More

Cabins were small but cozy. The rates are very reasonable. It has everything you need for a weekend getaway, including everything you need for cooking (pots, pans, plates, cups, silverware, etc.). We loved the way the cabins were decorated. It felt very woodsy and warm. If you're used to more luxurious accommodations, this isn't the place for you. But if... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Colden cabin for two nights and the overall experience was excellent. We were there to hike in the Adirondack park (Cabins are 5 min drive to Adirondack Loj). The cabin was clean and everything worked well: fridge, stove, toilet and shower. Wayne is a very nice guy. Would rent a cabin at Mt... More

We have stayed at the cabins a couple of times in the winter with a group. The cabins are small, but cozy. The owner/ manager was very accommodating. Since no one was using the big house, we were able to gather there and cook meals, etc. There is so much to do in and around Lake Placid any time of... More

We stayed in one of the studio cabins rather than the house. The cabin was extremely small (half the size of a typical Manhattan studio), but since it was for me and my now-husband it was fine. We stayed for three nights and I made soup on the stove and a few other things. It was well set-up with everything... More

My wife and I recently spent a week at the Mt Van Hoevenberg cabins while attending the Ironman in Lake Placid as support crew for a friend who was running the race. We loved it! The B&B description is not 100% accurate but the cabins had been recommended to us by a friend who had stayed there before. We stayed... More

It is not a B&B. Although the owner is known as a "guide", much of the website information is misleading and one wonders how many misadventures the owner has taken? Proximity to Mt. Van Hoevenberg cross country ski centre is correct; just a mile or so. If this (location) is what you want, this is the place to stay. If... More
