We had heard that the rooms in this hotel were small. We were pleasantly surprised. Great views from the room up to the mountains. Lovely balcony. Good location for the town and the walking. We didn't have dinner in the hotel, but breakfast was good.

To be perfectly honest, the hotel can get away with quite a lot because the views are just breathtaking. The room was the least nice room we stayed in during our trip to the island; there is a lot of wood in the room so it was quite dark, the bathroom is dated, there was no air-conditioning... but everything is... While we were in Cilaos we stayed both in the Vieux Cep and the Chenets so this report can be read together with the other. Overall we are more likely to return to the Vieux Cep, maybe trying to get a bigger room. The Vieux Cep has a great location and is very attractive from the outside. It is very... More

We stayed here for 3 nights (although the middle night we stayed at the Gite up Piton de Neige). The room was realitively basic, but was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed/wanted. The hotel is very pretty and has loads of lovely Creole decorative features to the buildings. The staff are lovely and warm, even if your French is... More

We stayed in a superior family room for 3 nights - with 2 adults & 2 children. We had a first floor room with a balcony, which had terrific views of the mountains and the Piton de Neiges. Our room had a small upstairs loft that was big enough for 2/3 kids to sleep in. The room was fairly basic... More

... this hotel really could do better. The welcome was poor, we had a disappointing meal in the restaurant, and the staff were unable (unwilling?) to resolve a simple problem with the TV remote control. The bathroom needed some better lighting and an extractor fan. It could be really good, as it's in a nice quiet location with stunning mountain... More

This is really a fantastic hotel - probably the best in Cilaos !! Rooms were very neat and clean and food was very good. The only negative was that it was very difficult to communicate as very little English was understood !! Overall though a very good hotel !!

We stayed a couple of nights and enjoyed it very much. Friendly staff, welcome drink, clean and cosy room with a little terrace and a comfortable bed, quiet nights... There's an onsite restaurant which is about the only restaurant in town that is open on a Monday evening! The food is okay, but not really that much value for money.... More

not perfect, but by far the friendliest we came across. Staff and service were highlights. Even nice rooms were very simple, and bathroom v tired. However, great place to rest weary legs after summiting pitons des nieges. . .
