After several days trekking in the mountains this hotel provided a most luxurious base for us. It has lovely cotton sheets, baths in each room, fabulous views to the mountains. It us about 15 minutes walk from the centre of town.

I spent a lovely week end of August on the chill mountains of Cilaos with friends, good hotel, nice welcome, good room, good service as well as a warm corner at the bar. Staffs were very helpful, if you want to have a remote vacation far from the city noise that would be the place for one to resource himself.... More

Hotel Le Cilaos is a difficult to find establishment on the edge of Cilaos - about 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The public areas of the hotel are appealing, but it is badly let down in other ways. Despite some language and communications hiccups, the staff were friendly and helpful, although there was neither an elevator nor porter... More

Dear Sir We are very thankful that you took a time to express yourself and told us what was wrong during you stage at Le Cilaos. Nevertheless, we have noted that you appreciated : the lounge where is the old fireplace, the staff who were very friendly and helpful, the restaurant who produced good food and the large bedroom. For... More

This hotel sums up the ying and yang of trying to write hotel reviews...for some the location of the hotel on the edge of the town is a real drag, for us it was great and we liked it. For some, the breakfast was merely OK, for us we thought it was very good. Soem think the pool area is... More

If you expect a 4star service you will b disappointed. Everybody is very helpful but it just doesn't fit with a 4star service. No help with the baggages (no elevator too), the rooms have very noisy minibars and are somehow sterile. Spa services are either not available (massages) or quite expensive. One final tip: don't go to the restaurant, you... More

Maybe because it has had a re branding (now Les Cilaos) I thought this hotel was good value for the price. Remembering that Reunion has mainland France economics I'm not sure what other travellers were expecting for their money. The room was large and clean, as was the bathroom, the view from our balcony was great. Staff were pleasant, helpful... More

While we were in Cilaos we stayed both in the Vieux Cep and the Chenets so this report can be read together with the other. Overall we are more likely to return to the Vieux Cep, maybe trying to get a bigger room. The Chenets This hotel is a little way out of the town but in easy reach of... More

Set on a hillside on the perimeter of town, the front rooms have beautiful views over the town and to the mountains. I suppose the back rooms just look at the hill ! It's fairly modern and clean, but basic. No lift. Restaurant huge but empty (not a good sign, but it was off-season) and a bit pricey. Pool tucked... More

The drive to Cilaos is an experience in itself. The hotel caters largely for the German tourist market and when we arrived it was low season and only 3 rooms were booked. Because of this the restaurant was closed and we had to walk into the town for dinner. No real problem with that but the walk back was through... More

After 40 minutes of very dangerous driving in the mountain, we arrived in the city, no signs to indicate the hotel. On honeymoon, the hotel booked a twin bedroom. Luckily, they gave another one. The bathroom was full of dumb, the bed was noisy,... The sauna can take only 2 persons, be prepared for queueing. The restaurant was extremely expensive... More
