We stayed at Bois Rouge for 2 nights and found it very quaint with a view over Cilaos (over a field). The breakfasts were great with many personal touches. We were able to speak very little French and the owners English was worse than our French. This was very interesting when asking them where the hiking trails started from!! However,... More

Very nice place to stay in Cilaos, if you like B&B accommodation. Spacious rooms and nice service. We spend there only one night during our four day trekking. The location is near to GR, so it was easy for us to find it and to come back the next day to continue the route.

We stayed three nights in Cilaos in Bois Rouge which is in the very center of this small town. Hotel is small, with good comfortable rooms. Each room had individual theme and special floor panels from exotic wood. Breakfast was filling and tasty (big pot of strong coffee!), served at terrace in cool mountain air. It gets quite cool during... More

I liked everything about this place: room (large, tasty decoration, subtle parfum of wood and bed linen), breakfast (served on the terrace with fresh air of mountains and friendly morning smile of the nice hostess lady), location... And especially the approach of the hotel Manager - Frederic and his colleague - a very professionnal team, sincere in their friendly and... More

We booked a room at Le Bois Rouge for the final two nights of our three-week trip to Paris, La Reunion and Mauritius. Prior reviews had been excellent but I was unprepared for how lovely the place would be. M. Mainton gave us a guided tour of a the property upon arrival -- he has thought of every possible need... What a wonderful stay! if I knew this place was going to be so charming I would have stayed here for longer than only one night. The owner was so nice and helpful, I even was given a red rose. The rooms are huge and beautiful with lots of details, there is a huge DVD collection from which guests can... More

Cute small hotel with only 5 or 6 rooms. What made this place special: a very warm service of the owners. Nice breakfast on the terrasse with mountain view.... very clean rooms, DVD player (DVDs for free at the reception) + TV in the room. Good place to stay for some nights! In walking distance to the small "city".

After a hair raising 400 turns to reach Cilaos we arrived at the quaint Le Bois Rouge. Speaking very little French oursleves, and with the owner speaking even less English that we spoke French, we managed to check-in and were shown to our room with beautiful views over the town. The rooms are adequate and clean and there are DVD's... More
