Dirty room with a view of an algae and debris filled pool! The food was basic and its best to go down the street for lunch and dinner. The City has wonderful historical sights and this is not one of them. Staff did not care whether we needed anything and stood around talking to each other! It does not cost... More

this hotel looks great in web....in reality is worst , but have to take in consideration that massawa was a city heavily destroyed by war.... Unfortunately the most beautiful part of the hotel was closed so, we had to stay in the most recent but less characteristic part....anyway is best hotel in Massawa and have a nice salt water pool... The hotel is probably the best you can find in Massawa but it is certainly not first-world. There are plenty of people at the front desk but between the five of them you can't get a piece of paper moved and they are not responsive to complaints or requests for assistance. The rooms are spacious and my aircon and fan... More

When you enter the hotellobby you have really feel that you be in a Grand Hotel. The staff at the reception is very friendly but incompetent in case of complaints. The beds are clean, the rest of the room less clean. Just the bathroom can be in terms of cleanliness to fishing to be desired. Many valves were damaged. Also,... More

Great renovated historic building with nice facade and lobby. The rest is a bit worn. Rooms are ok although the AC is weak. Massawa is hot! Location is good just 200 m from Old Town. The pool is Dirty, don't Use it. We paid 1500 in local currency. Breakfast was not included. Hotel felt safe. WiFi was ok but not... More

I stayed twice in this hotel. The first time the hotel was empty so I was upgraded in the room at the first floor on the pool, huge and clean. The second , I was on the road, the rooms are not so nice. The pool is huge but was not clean. It is possible to have a swim in... More

This is a huge rambling, labyrinthine hotel, which at first sight looks highly promising, with a salt water swimming pool around which the building spreads. There are indeed some nice touches in the public areas, with Arabic designs incorporated. The first let down comes with the reception desk staff, who were completely incapable of booking in eight people into six... More

We visited Massawa twice during our Summer holiday in Eritrea and returned to stay at the Dahlak hotel also on our second trip from Asmara. This is the right place to rest and freshen up after a warm day on the Red sea. Fine architectural details inspired by the turkish art wich is predominant in Massawa, but also some elegant... More

Looks wise, this is actually the best you can find in Massawa. The rooms have proper air conditioning, bed sheets/linens are nice and some rooms have very good view. One of the most stunning things about this particular hotel is its historical art work, turkish art with an Italian touch. The resturants are good and it is situated in a... More
