I will start by saying that we stayed during the off season, but had an awesome stay. We have a travel trailer, and requested a wooded campsite on the river-and that is exactly what we got. Site was perfect size-not to big/not to small. My only complaint is that the firering was rather small compared to other campgrounds we've visited.... more

I was also hesitant to stay at this campground because of the reviews. We visited it before it was open for the season and I spoke to them several times about seasonal sites. Each and every time, I received prompt and courteous attention. We stayed four of July long weekend. We camp at alot of different places and there was... more

We just returned from this campground...what a letdown. We booked with the 800 number one month in advance and paid in full. When we arrived they had totally messed up, no reservation in the computer, all sold out...would you like an "overflow site"? (in the middle of a grass field by a frog pond or right by the dumping station? The... more

I read some of the reviews on this website and I found them to be discouraging. I decided to ignore the reviews and go with the Woodalls rating, which was 5 star, and AAA which was 3 stars, both of which are the highest rating a campgound can receive. I am glad I did because this was a very good... more

This is an excellent place to stay for people trying camping for the first time. If you are looking for a rustic experience, this is not the place. My family enjoys camping, but I do not, so this is a nice compromise for me. We have stayed here in summer 2007 and summer 2005. There is a restaurant on the... more

We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Lake George Escape Camping Resort with our 2 kids (ages 5 & 9). I booked our trip directly with the resort. I spent a great deal of time on the phone with the representative choosing a site - because we prefer private, secluded camping. After deciding on a campsite we... more

We camp in a large tent as a lot of others do at this campground. The sites are tight along the pond and divided by large boulders. These rocks are the right size for sitting but small children could easily climb and get hurt on them. The sites just fit our 12X18 tent so I would estimate they are about... more

We just came back from Lake Geroge Escape and it was very nice. We rented a 24' cabin which has a capacity of 5 people but that would be very tight. I would say two small kids would be the most. It was my husband, myself and our 2 year old in a pack and play. The cabin was clean... more

I I stayed at Lake George Escape for the first and last time July 2006. The sites are muddy with a little stone where you park your Rv. It is in need of maintence. The grass and weeds are out of control. We went to Walmart and bought Hedge trimmers to cut down the weeds around our site. I would... more
