We stayed at Nelson's for a few days and nights on our way somewhere else, in their smallest cottage, the Rhode Isle. It was clean, cozy, and the bed was VERY comfortable. There is a long, sloping lawn down to 4th Lake behind the Nelson house. We spent our afternoons there. Thanks Ken, Linda, and especially Julie, who steered us... More

We've been staying at Nelson's for quite a few years now and we have never been disappointed. Is it fancy-schmancy with turn down service and mints on your pillow? NO! But it is a wonderful relaxing place with warm, friendly people who work at and run the place. It's in a serene setting in the trees and on the lake... More

I contacted Nelson's Cottages on the Thursday before Columbus Day weekend and was able to reserve a cottage for a family of four(which includes two teenagers) for that Saturday to Sunday. When I talked to Linda she inquired about our arrival time which I estimated around 3pm. On the day of our arrival we were running late by a few... More

We took a spontaneous trip north and couldn't find any vacancies. Nelsons only had a 3 bedroom left and could've really gouged us but, didn't charged us their 1 bedroom rate !!!!! Yes the cabin was dated but really clean ! Would definitely stay there again

I'm not sure if I'm getting older, and pickier. In any case we called very hotel, motel, or cottage in the area, and this was the only place with a room available. The owners were very nice, but would not hold a room for us when we were on the phone, but luckily the cottage was still available when we... More

We stayed at Nelson's over the busy Labor Day week. All the cabins were full but we still had plenty of private beach, campfire and gorgeous sunsets looking out over the lake that set behind the mountains. The cottages are reminiscent of days gone buy and were clean, shaded by trees and very comfortable.

We worried that finding a place for two adults and two small kids to join relatives in the Adirondacks would be a disaster...instead we found a vacancy at Nelson's and had a great stay! The cabin (slept 4) was clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for our use. We brought supplies for breakfast (ours was one with a fridge but no... More
