My wife and I just had a wonderful experience at the Stone House B & B. Our host Sam was extremely pleasant and suggested some great restaurants for us to dine at. The room was actually what we had hoped for as this is a 300 year old house. Very comfortable and homey. The breakfast were excellent. Close to a... More

The Stone House Bed and Breakfast could not be more pleasant. The building itself is charming and inviting (although be aware that it definitely has the creaks and sounds that one should expect in a house of advanced age). We stayed in the "Girl With A Pearl Earring" room and the room was spacious with a huge and comfortable bed.... More

I was at the Stone House for five days. I sure felt like I was "home" the entire time. From the king bed and the mound of feather pillows to the fresh flowers on the windowsill. There was an electric space heater in the corner if I needed it for these cold December nights. Sam is a very gracious host... More

Awesome stay...near the Catskills....Kingston...Rhinebeck...Lots of history...great setting on the Esopus River...Sam-the owner was super...very friendly. Breakfast was complete and good...Mushroom Fritatta....yummm. We stayed in the "Girl with the Pearl Earing" room...the bed was super comfy. The house inself is full of history....solid thick stone walls...the original wide plank pine flooring.

We decided to have a brief weekend trip, during the autumn foliage season. After finding this inn on tripadvisor, we were happy to see that they had availability for the "Geographer" room. Stonehouse B&B dates from the 1600's (we have never stayed anywhere remotely that old!). The floorboards were huge planks, there were curios on display that were found in... More

The Stone House is a lovely B&B in Hurley New York, about a 25 min drive from Woodstock (where my husband and I spent most of our time). We wanted a nice, quiet weekend away from the city, and that is exactly what we received from this B&B. The Stone House is in great condition- very cozy with coffee and... More

We picked this place since all other hotels are fully booked and due to its proximity to Hyde Park and Rhinebeck. Sam and Nadia are excellent host. Room is clean and adequate size. The 3 course breakfast was superb. The phone signal is quite weak in the area. It is quite pricey but I understand it is peak season and... More

We were attending a wedding nearby, and wanted to make a "foliage" weekend out of it, so we opted for the Stone House rather than a hotel. What a great choice it was. This is the oldest house in New York State, but has been lovingly restored. The rooms are quirky but very comfortable, with original wide plank floors, four-poster... More

We have been visiting Bed and Breakfasts for 24 years . We feel The Hurley Stone House was overpriced and over rated. Amenities were scarce. The bathroom linens were old and frayed. The complimentary shampoo, etc were 1/4 full (tacky). No cups in bathroom, no clock of any sort in room, no emptying of trash cans in room each day.... More

We’re sorry that your stay here was not special enough for you, and thank you for your review. At this very busy time of year, prices reflect that for one month of the year we turn away more people than we can accommodate because of the famous Fall foliage in this region; our off peak prices are much lower and... It was fun staying in such an older B & B. The furnishings were most interesting, some of the wooden floor planks creaked rather loudly adding to the ambience. The ceilings sloped in particular places (e.g., where one would face the toilet). Within 30 min or so from Hyde Park (FDR's home, Vanderbllt mansion, Culinary Institute of America restaurants). The... More
