My grandson was visiting from Florida and wanted to see a REAL castle. Oheka is very impressive. We walked around the grounds and public rooms and saw the picture of the original owner who looks like Mr. Monopoly. We then went to the restaurant for lunch. The Charle Chaplin Room was fun and the foods was delicious. Our eight year... More

We bought a Groupon for an overnight stay in a Chateau room with free continental breakfast and tour. When you pull up to the castle it is breathtaking. When we arrived it was early evening and there were candles/fireplaces lit around the castle. It was very romantic. Our room was very quaint. The room was spotless. The bedding so plush... More

We really enjoyed our weekend getaway on Long Island. What a fabulous escape! This castle was a fairytale deeply embedded in history, and so lovingly restored. We especially loved the castle tour, so very interesting, and we enjoyed walking around the beautiful grounds. We stayed in the Whitney Room and it was lovely. The staff was dedicated to pleasing us.... More

Oheka Castle is a hotel located in a former Gold Coast mansion. The property was bought in 1984 in a state of decay and disrepair and restored to its former grandeur and elegance. The Hotel is beautiful and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant has an extensive menu, and everything we had was excellent. If you want a... More

This is the 2nd largest house in the US a little over 100,000 square feet. Beautiful castle with a lot of class and original ornaments. Also, restaurant served delicious and reasonable food by NY standards. Furthermore some rooms have different themes especially the Charlie Chaplin room. Finally, beautiful courtyards and beautiful entrance.

Spent 3 nights at Oheka and loved it. Doesn't have all the amenities you may expect at a typical hotel (no microwave, fridge, etc) in rooms, but it's a freaking castle!. The scenery was great and the history behind the hotel is amazing. I would recommend staying there and taking the tour to anyone that enjoys history and wants a... More

My wife and I visited the Oheka Castle last year July 2013. (Trip Advisor needs a custom calendar for Travel Dates) It was truly a delightful experience and we really enjoyed ourselves throughout the whole tour. I was really impressed with the history of changes and ownership that the mansion went through over the decades. The current owner took a... More

This review is for the hotel accommodations. A number of us stayed overnight while attending an event on-site. As others note, Oheka should be viewed more as a B&B rather than a full-fledged hotel. So services and amenities you don't think twice about having at hand - newspapers, a lobby, round-the-clock dining - don't exist. That's OK. But evaluating Oheka... More

Loved this hotel! Everyone was friendly, the building was beautiful, and the room was very comfortable. It was a wonderful place to relax for a night- the bartender made a great drink, and we loved the onsite restaurant. The bedding was very comfortable, and the bathroom nicely updated. If you love old hotels and architecture you will not be dissapointed.

I did not stay the night here, but I saw everything from multiple guest rooms, all the banquet areas and of course the beautiful grounds. First of all, the hotel has a one bride policy. That means if you get married here, there is only one wedding per day. Also, if you are spending your honeymoon here but didn't get... More
