Spent 3 nights at Oheka and loved it. Doesn't have all the amenities you may expect at a typical hotel (no microwave, fridge, etc) in rooms, but it's a freaking castle!. The scenery was great and the history behind the hotel is amazing. I would recommend staying there and taking the tour to anyone that enjoys history and wants a... More

My wife and I visited the Oheka Castle last year July 2013. (Trip Advisor needs a custom calendar for Travel Dates) It was truly a delightful experience and we really enjoyed ourselves throughout the whole tour. I was really impressed with the history of changes and ownership that the mansion went through over the decades. The current owner took a... More

This review is for the hotel accommodations. A number of us stayed overnight while attending an event on-site. As others note, Oheka should be viewed more as a B&B rather than a full-fledged hotel. So services and amenities you don't think twice about having at hand - newspapers, a lobby, round-the-clock dining - don't exist. That's OK. But evaluating Oheka... More

Loved this hotel! Everyone was friendly, the building was beautiful, and the room was very comfortable. It was a wonderful place to relax for a night- the bartender made a great drink, and we loved the onsite restaurant. The bedding was very comfortable, and the bathroom nicely updated. If you love old hotels and architecture you will not be dissapointed.

I did not stay the night here, but I saw everything from multiple guest rooms, all the banquet areas and of course the beautiful grounds. First of all, the hotel has a one bride policy. That means if you get married here, there is only one wedding per day. Also, if you are spending your honeymoon here but didn't get... More

Great place to check out on Long Island and very close to NYC. Great bar area and the room was above average. It looks like a an excellent venue for weddings. Leave time to just walk around and check out the grounds. You will feel like you are on the Long Island of 150 years ago!

Beautiful castle located on Long Island, not very far from New York. Large park and French style gardens around the castle. We had a beautiful, spacious room. Service was not really warm and cheerful, but we had a quick check-in/out. The breakfast brunch was OK. Lots of things to visit around, including the interesting William K. Vanderbilt house and its... More

This is a very unusual, beautiful property and was a very nice change from our 1st leg of our vacation in the City. It felt like a completely different vacation in another Country. The area of Long Island that this property is located is beautiful and quant inot too far from town with sweet little shops and great eateries. I... More

Walking around this hotel/restaurant/event venue you could easily think it was built in Italy or France and dropped here in error. The grounds are magnificent, the themed public rooms are beautifully decorated, and overall, the place is gorgeous. The property is reminiscent of Versailles, the way you drive up the gravel approach road, and enter the entrance hall. The artwork... More

On our way to Long Island we stopped off to tour the mansion and have lunch. Unfortunately the tours were booked but we were happy enough with walking around the common rooms of the castle. We had drinks at the bar before going into the dining room, the Bloody Mary was one of the best I've had, priced as expected... More
