Charming, lovely and friendly! This quaint inn made my first experience to Hunter unforgettable. The service was outstanding and I immediately felt at home. The breakfast is delicious served in the cozy dining room. I was so impressed how so much detail is incorporated into everything Stephania does here. From the garnish on the plates to the linen on the... more

My boyfriend and I traveled to the Catskills for a friends wedding and stayed for the weekend at the Washington Irving. We stayed in a room with great potential, tucked up on the top floor of the house but it seemed like the room had not been used in a while. When we arrived it smelled like an attic room... more

Just returned from a Labour Day weekend stay at the Washington Irving Inn. What impressed us most was the amazing collection of antiques throughout the B&B. The building is large, with a total of 15 rooms on 2 floors, so it would be an ideal place for a family reunion. The builidng has a very large dining hall, able to... more

Every aspect of my first experience at the Washington Irving Inn was delightful. Stefania is an innkeeper who represents her fine property and the best qualities of hospitality in all that she does. My room had all the amenities looked for in a classic country Inn and had a small deck looking out at the Catskill high peaks. Ideally located... more

We took a mini-weekend-vacation to relax & explore the Catskills and were lucky to find this B&B. It's truly one of the nicest in this part of the Catskills. Gorgeous 1890's home with fun period decor, fabulous breakfast and complimentary tea (we splurged for a full tea on Sat and it was absolutely delicious with a beautiful presentation), clean room,... more

My husband, daughter and I were in Hunter for a family engagement and were lucky enough to be able to stay at the Washington Irving for the night. My family was having an event at the Inn and we asked the Innkeeper if we could spend the night and she graciously accomodated us. Our room was on the top floor... more

My girlfriend surprised me with a getaway weekend at the Washington Irving Inn. The Inn from the outside looked like a tremendous home. The inside was gorgeous; from the second you walk into the check-in area, to the beautiful dining room, to the personable service provided by Stephanie (the Innkeeper) and Patty, to the great room. My girlfriend and I... more

Stephanie, the innkeeper, strives to provide great service and a welcoming environment. Rooms are delightfully decorated. Guests are courteous. Close to Hunter Mountain and x-country skiing (and hiking and golf in the summer). She cooks an amazing breakfast which is included in the room rate (her pancakes are the best-- light, flavorful, be sure to eat the entire order of... more

We stayed for a weekend getaway out of the city, and loved every minute of it. It's owner-operated, and Stephanie gives her own special touch of warmth and welcome. The breakfasts are delicious and we truly enjoyed the afternoon tea (and the nutbreads!). The rooms are comfortable, clean, and we highly recommend room 6 - splurge for the whirlpool tub! more
