We stayed here for the night on our travels through Mexico and it was good enough. We had an interior room which wasn't the best to be honest, and the shower was awful! However we spent our time walking around and getting to know the town, so for us the hotel was OK and is cheap.

With a recommendation from a trusted friend I booked a room for my wife & myself at this historic gem. We arrived mid afternoon with excellent reception at the front desk. Quickly processed paying the 610 peso cost per night including all fees/taxes. Room a bit small but well maintained, very clean, with a comfortable bed, good WiFi, normal Mexican... More

The old section of Queretaro is a wonderful place to be, and the Hidalgo Hotel is perfectly located so you can walk to everything. The street has been converted to a pedestrian walkway, so your taxi will drop you off on the closest main street and you will walk about a half a block to the entrance. Earlier reviews had... More

My family stayed at this hotel for about 9 days and they really enjoyed it. The place was clean and the rooms were spacious. The only issue with the room that they had was because they had a balcony facing the street, if they wanted to sleep early it was a little loud. The courtyard in the hotel is beautiful... More

Granted we were somewhat apprehensive because of the reasonable price for a location right in centro. We checked out the room choices prior to checking in and found the rooms to be somewhat claustrophobic and very minimal. Since we had made a reservation, we chose to stay one night but cancel the reservation for the second. Not that we felt... More

Location is great, service was good, and the courtyard is beautiful. I love the reasonable price, and the convenience of an on site restaurant. The bad: the room was opressively small. Also, the ceiling fan was noisy and only had one setting. However, overall it was a good place to stay. Quiet, safe, central, and very historical.

Queretaro is such a great city and Hotel Hidalgo is an excellent place to stay while exploring this beautiful city. We studied Spanish at Ole and it is quite close. I have stayed here 3 times and I have no complaints. Staff is helpful. Courtyard is beautiful. I love staying in places steeped in history and ambience. Reading other reviews... More

This was our second visit to Hotel Hidalgo in as many years and we enjoy its charm despite some shortcomings. It must be remembered that this hotel is one of the historic buildings in Queretaro, and it has not been restored to the level of a 4 or 5 star hotel, but given the price, this should not be expected.... Stayed here for one night and were very satisfied with our experience. The location is very good, staff is friendly, place is spotless and the courtyard is beautiful. Disappointed that Wi-Fi did not work in our room.

The Hidalgo was the first hotel built in Queretaro and at one time housed soldiers and the famed Santa Ana. The history and location make this a must stay for at least two nights. On the weekend ghost tours come through retelling the history of the city and the central role that this hotel held. It is a short walk... More
