La Casa de la Marquesa is a wonderful, historical, beautiful place. The rooms were quite large and comfortable. This hotel is located in the heart of the city. The plaza, museums, cafes, shops, and restaurants are all just a few blocks away. We had a wonderful romantic weekend. more

We had a terrific stay in this beautiful hotel. The price, for what you get, was more than reasonable. The room was clean, beautiful hardwood floors, very large, giant shutters opened up to a view of the church across the street. One of the reviews I read here on TripAdvisor mentioned that you should request to stay in the main... more

if you are looking for a beautiflu romantic getaway in the downtown historic district, this is it! We stayed in the expansion part across the street by choice because of the exceptional quality of the rooms. It is difficult to find anything negative to say about this hotel. It has everything you could want: beautiful rooms, modern facilities, location, service,... more

This hotel has what we always look for in a vacation hotel – excellent location in the heart of the city, good staff, nice rooms, reasonable price and character. In this case, the last comes from the hotel’s history and architecture. We stayed in the annex, the Casa Azul, which is not quite the same as staying in the main... more

For a hotel that bills itself as one of the Great Small Luxury Hotels in the World, I would expect much better service. The hotel is indeed stunning inside. Whether you stay here or not, you should visit the hotel and look inside at its spectacular Moorish-influenced architecture. Apparently, though, the management that runs this hotel seems to think that... more

The hotel is located in the heart of the historic center. All the museums, plazas, and restaurants are a few blocks away. The building itself is a work of art and the rooms are decorated individually with beautiful antiques. Our room (La Pinta) had tall, vaulted ceilings and hand-painted stencils. The huge bath tub was a luxury as were the... more

Good: the manager, Arturo, is brilliantly helpful and polite, as are all the staff. The location is dead central and great for seeing the sights. The building, and the lobby and stairs are breathtaking old world charm. The rooms are decorated so tastefully, that it is a delight staying there. Bad: Little things like shower pressure, hard bed, badly locking... more

Stayed as part of a two city visit to Mexico. We went to witness the celebration of thier Independance days. We drove in from Leon airport and found the roads and signs to be very easy to navigate. Peel back the tatter and wear and you will unvail a charming town with wonderfully warm and friendly people. At first I... more

We stayed here for 2 nights...we LOVED it! We have traveled extensively and this was probably the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed at. I suppose there could be noise issues like others mentioned, but we did not experience any. The streets are very narrow and it is close to many shops...so yes, you may hear some noise, but... more
