We travelled by boat down the Zambezi having spent 3 nights at the exquisite and definitely not to be missed Old Mondoro Camp. We were a party of 9 including family and friends all reunited for special birthdays. The staff were absolutely brilliant, knowledgeable, friendly and very kind especially Reuben from Old Modoro who made a special trip to find... More

Chiawa is an incredible camp. It offers so many options - game drives, walking safaris, tiger fishing, boat cruises, canoeing. And the staff is so accomodating - you can adjust the time you want to spend on each activity or combine them. Great meals with special settings. One evening we went into the bush, another we ate on the water.... More

We stayed at Chiawa for 5 nights in August 2014 - the last of 4 lodges this trip to Africa, the second in Zambia. We loved the fact that you reach the lodge by boat which makes for quite a different safari experience. Asst Managers Dave and Tess were superb hosts and the whole Chiawa team was faultless. We availed... More

So the first impression, which is obviously pretty important: on arrival, you are immediately requested to sign those silly liability forms, which everyone knows would never stand up in a court of law. Having been on safari a very large number of times, this was only the third time this was requested of us and we were as disgusted this... More

Thank you for taking the time to review on Trip Advisor - although I read that you look forward to your return I am very sorry that some aspects of your visit fell short of expectation. Despite our best efforts and the overwhelming majority of our guests enjoying a superior safari experience at Chiawa Camp there are sometimes misunderstandings, and... More

Having spent three nights at Old Mondoro, Chiawa's sister camp, we were definitely excited about our four night stay here. We were not disappointed!! And as with Old Mondoro the wild life viewing is unbelievable but once again it was the staff that blew us away. Their knowledge & expertise is inspiring. Our hosts Anita & Peter certainly do listen... More

Chiawa camp was our last stop in Zambia. After three weeks and six other camps we can honestly say we saved the best till last. Chiawa is a stunning camp in one of the most beautiful areas in Zambia the Lower Zambezi National Park. From the moment we transferred by boat from their sister camp Old Mondoro to the moment... We were overwhelmed by the service we received at Chiawa. It is one of the most amazing trips we have ever taken, the camp has spectacular views, an abundance of animals that visit the camp on a daily basis (sometimes the elephants visits delayed our 5 star meal.) and is family owned & operated which gives it that personal touch.... Our time in Chiawa was truly incredible. There are so many things to do at this camp. But you can also just stay in camp and enjoy the river and the animals without anyone else around you. Very peaceful. Several times we had elephants right in the middle of the camp which was exciting. And it was fun to watch... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights in Chiawa Camp in August. This was our third camp in Zambia and we were impressed with everything about this camp. The staff work very hard to make sure each guest is having the experience they want to have. There are a variety of ways to experience the animals, and we particularly enjoyed... More
