We stayed at Mfuwe Lodge for 6 nights, and the affiliated Bilimungwe Bushcamp for 3 nights to celebrate our 20th anniversary. This was a wonderful experience in so many ways! November is when elephants visit the lodge to eat ripe mangoes from the large tree right off the lobby area. We saw families of baboons and elephants there (including babies)... more

We spent one night at Mfuwe after having been in South Africa and on our way into the bushcamps that are also owned by The Bushcamp Company (same owners of Mfuwe Lodge. We were disappointed at the level of service and attention vs all of the rest of The Bushcamp Company locations. We were left with the feeling that if... more

Mfuwe Lodge is located about 1 hour from the Mfuwe airport, near the main gate entrance to the South Luangwe National Park. The lodge is composed of 18 chalets (some family style) and can accommodate over 45 guests. The entrance is broad and open as are all the gathering areas. The bar area is located just around the corner (altho... more

Our 4 nights stay at Mfuwe Lodge was a wonderful experience. We stayed at the Lodge after a 3 nights equally good experience at the Kapamba Bush Camp, owned by the same Bushcamp company. The lodge is in a splendid location and photos do not give justice to its charme. The chalets are very spacious and welcoming, very well appointed... more

This place is just incredible. Everything about it is wonderful. Firstly, the location, just inside the south luangwa national park. You're surrounded by wildlife - elephants, monkeys and (very small baby!) crocodiles were to be found round about the property whilst we were there. But it isn't just the location that makes the place great. The staff are fantastic, very... more

Mfuwe Lodge is an excellent place to stay while visiting South Luangwa National Park. Food is excellent. Staff is not only friendly and helpful, but sings great too. Shop is small, but good. Library on site. Pool. Our balcony overlooked the lagoon. One afternoon we watched a heron on a hippo, a herd of puku, about 50 impala, crocs, many... more

We stayed at Mfuwe Lodge as part of our honeymoon for 2 days and 2 nights after been delayed at Lusaka airport for one day & night, bit of a nightmare. But the staff at Mfuwe Lodge made us welcome and went out of their way to ensure even though we had missed one day and night of our stay... more

FANTASTIC - We visited in the Low (Emerald Season) and were concerned we may not see much game , but how wrong can you be - AMAZING EXPERIENCE. Lodge SUPERB, our room overlooked the lagoon where hippos wallowed all day (& night!), a little noisy, but what an experience - definitely will visit again in the future. Staff very helpful... more
