The game viewing is outstanding, very friendly staff and locals, brilliant western style food, lovely swimming pool, comfortable chalets. Flatdogs exceeded expectations by some way, do not miss any of the drives because when you think you have seem it all a new experience comes into view. This is a safari you will never forget.

Staying at Flatdogs Camp was one of the best experiences of my life. It is right on the river, which makes for incredible wildlife viewing. Our favourite experience of our stay was waking one morning to hippos happily muching on the grass just outside our tent. One guest at the hotel had the shock of her life when she was... More

My wife, son, daughter-in-law and 2 1/2 year old grandson spent three nights and four days at Flatdogs Camp in January. Having never been to Africa before, this was my first time to go on safari. From the moment we checked in until we checked out, it was an exceptional experience. Byron, our safari guide, was very professional and knowledgeable.... More

Where do I start? I've been to Flatdogs Camp 3 times already and a fourth trip is already booked. You are treated like one of the family. The food is amazing, the staff are brilliant and the accommodation is second to none. I've stayed with in both the luxury tents and the chalets and they are amazingly comfy. The wildlife... More

I agree with all previous reviewers. The location, knowledge that the staff shared with me, amazing food and the hospitality of the staff was simply first class. I had been traveling around Africa for 7 weeks and the quality of the wildlife viewing on the morning and evening game drives far surpassed my safari experiences in Uganda, Namibia, Botswana or... World Camp Inc. took volunteer groups of 5 to 25 participants to Flatdogs for years. We made the trek from Lilongwe, Malawi because it's worth it, even before the road was paved. Flatdogs provides fantastic chalets, exquisite food, a great pool with even better views, a fun bar scene, and the best service imaginable. Every guide we had gave us... More

I went to Zambia at Christmas to get away and just chill. It was never my intention to go on safari, even though the national park is just across the river. I didn't need to set my foot outside camp, the animals came to me. A family of elephants crossed over each night and passed though camp to steal mangos... More

I've been waiting 40 years to go back to Africa, and didn't want to return to Kenya but instead find something similar but different. I wrote to 'Expert Africa', telling them what I wanted and they suggested Flatdogs. The reviews were all positive, Jess sent very helpful emails (including warning me that December/January isn't the idea time to go there... More

We stayed for 3 nights. Staff were very accommodating allowing us to self cater using the braai facilities at the restaurant area in the evenings. Night drive was extremely good and can recommend especially if time is short. We saw loads more on the night drive than during 2 days of self drive in the park during the day. You... More

We stayed at Flatdogs for four nights in October 2014 and our experience surpassed all expectations. Jess, Adie and the entire staff are incredibly hospitable and accommodating with a natural charm. Whatever your wishes, you only had to say it, and it happened! Our guide Byron was fantastic. The setting of the camp is outstanding. We were in the luxury... More
