Stayed in one of the chalets for 2 nights and did 2 game drives per day. Very comfortable and clean with a fantastic outlook. The guides (Malama, Byron) we had were extremely knowledgable and made the drives fun and very educational! Jess and Ade were extremely welcoming and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Their workshop even fixed our car!... More

The camp is terrifically located on the bank of the Luangwa river, with wildlife always in sight. It is comfortable but not pretentious, the bar/restaurant area is pleasant and the food is excellent. The staff is very friendly; and as an independent traveller afraid of trespassing into some luxury safari sub-culture I was also happy to see that the management... More

The owners, manager and all staff were amazing!!! They are so warm and hospitable. They could not do enough for us. They took the stress out of everything from picking us up at the airport. The guides were great and staff excellent. The tour of the village was very appreciative and educational. We were treated to an all day safari... More

They call Flatdogs a budget safari camp and insofar as there's no spa, air-conditioning, or satellite television I guess it is. But when it comes to what really counts, it would be hard to see how it could be bettered. Thanks to our guide Jonathan, whose knowledge of the flora and fauna was bettered only by his sense of humour,... More

Second Visit to Flatdogs even better than the first. My wife and I spent 5 nights at Flatdogs in July. Our visit was wonderful, again! The staff, food, game drives were super. I can not say enough good things about Jess, Ade, Paulo, Kennedy (our guide) and all the rest of the Flatdog's staff. A very special thank you to... More

It's hard to express how much I enjoyed my experience at Flatdogs. Even if there was no safari attached it would be a wonderful remote retreat away from it along. It sits on a picturesque spot by the Luangwa river where you can just laze around peacefully by the pool or in Adirondack chairs. There are animals that wander through... More

our family of 5 stayed at flat dogs for 4 nights in one of the chalets. we had the entire chalet and it worked our perfectly. The a la carte, eat whenever you want was a big plus for us as you don't have to eat at certain times like other camps. I found the food very good, massive portions... More

Stayed here for four nights in July. From start to finish the service and attention to detail was excellent. We stayed in one of the safari tents which was really special - elephants walking past during the day, hippos at night and all very comfortable. The food was excellent and the game drives spectacular. We didn't think we'd do the... More

Recently spent 2 nights only at flatdogs new Crocs Nest lodge Although outside the park , the lodge is surrounded by bountiful wildlife ( and plenty of animals especially elephants are to be found wandering around the camp ) Food unusually is very flexible with lots of delicious choices and flexibility over times too including the option of food being... I cannot say enough positive things about Flatdogs. This was the first place we stayed at for our first ever safari and it was terrific. The accommodations were more rustic than the average hotel room (we stayed in tent #11) as it is a tent but it was spacious, clean, and very comfortable - we even had a patio to... More
