The last family 'hands on' camp in South Luangwa. John, Carol, Jenny and Bryan Jackson provide the most welcoming of stays here, surrounded by a team of friendly staff, excellent guiding and delicious food. A special thanks to Heather who gave me insight to visiting Mwaleshi and Tafika each under the flagship that is RemoteAfrica safaris. The large chalet style... More

This really is in the outback from the moment the plane touched down, we were welcomed with drinks and taKen by jeap on a 1.5 hour journey to the lodge. We passed many villages and drove through the national park . Arriving we were again met with drinks cold flannels and a welcoming reception. The lodges are open and if... More

Tafika camp, together with its associated walking camps on the Chikoko Trails, is a wonderful and unique safari experience. South Luangwa is a remarkable ecosystem, and John, Carol and their whole team show it in the best possible way. The main draw card for us to come to South Luangwa was the walking safari, and it didn't disappoint. We spent... More

This a true family-run safari camp. The owners, John & Carol, along with their daughter Jennie, are very much hands-on. They are involved on a day-to-day basis, usually having breakfast and lunch with their guests, and are happy to chat about their bush experiences. The accommodations are very comfortable with big beds and large outdoor bathrooms. Some chalets are set... More

Through the help of one of the excellent guides, Brent, who is also a friend, I had the great privilege to experience all four of Remote Africa's camps. I began my 12 days at Takifa with the pleasant surprise of the short Cesna flight direct from Mfuwe, saving me the 2-hr driving transfer after traveling from Paris, so my safari... More

Tafika is one of those rare things in Africa these days. A safari camp which is still very much in the hands of the owners, who are there almost all of the time keeping an eye on things and interacting with the guests. The guiding is excellent with most of the guides having been at the camp for a number... More

Our 2nd stay at wonderful Tafika for 3 wonderful days/nights and loved every minute. Guilds are extremely knowledgeable and are some of the best in all Africa. They are all extremely welcoming as are the owners who seem to make friend with all their guests. Food was fresh and wonderful and though we have been before I can definitely see... More

Definitely not your high end fancy camp, but if you don't mind that Tafika is absolutely wonderful. The safari is spectacular - guides are highly experienced, able to tailor their information and sightings to your specific circumstances, and their actual spotting skills are just on another level. It is actually the quality of the guides that made us come back... More

A fabulous camp where we enjoyed 3 wonderful days/nights. The family unit was perfect for my wife & I together with our 2 daughters (12 & 10). As well as the wonderful, fresh food, the camp hammocks were a big hit with all 3 of them! I highly recommend taking the opportunity to do the micro-light flight at dawn with... More

Tafika is the place for those who are looking for something different than the typical game drive safari experience. The location is perfect along the river edge about 20 minutes from the air strip. The view of the plains across the river are spectacular and we arrived to what I refer to as "Noah's arc" with hippos crocs zebra elephants... More
