Tena Tena is a beautifully situated camp on the banks of the Luangwa River and surrounded by the best in nature. The tents are private, roomy, well equipped and have wonderful outdoor baths. Every tent opens on the river and in has all of the views and sounds of the many pods of hippos right in front of the camp.... More

This wasn't my first camp, so it didn't have that advantage, nor was it the most prolific camp from a wildlife standpoint-(although there were plenty of sightings) BUT, it was my favorite camp of the four I used. It had the best vibe, the most comfortable hostess in Christobel, and the friendliest staff. All game drives were wonderful, but as... More

camp is in the Nsefu sector of S. Luangwa Park. Remote luxury tent camping. We saw an abundance of wildlife in their natural habitat, including lions, leopard, hippos and buffalo. Nyumbe (now coined Yum-Yum was very knowledgable in all aspects of life there. In camp we were visited by elephants outside our tent. Our hostess Cristabel and manager Bertram insured... More

Our group of seven stayed at Robin Pope's Tena Tena camp in South Luangwa National Park, one of two camps inside the park situated on a bend of the Luangwa river. The tented accommodations were spacious and elegant. The staff was warm, enthusiastic and couldn't do enough for our group. They even baked non-gluten breads and cakes for those with... More

We came up to Tena Tena from Nkwali which is also run by Robin Pope Safaris and it was a different experience yet still wonderful. The Park is a lot quieter up here and we saw some different things every day. The food was very good and the staff were wonderful - our guide Julius was very knowledgeable and manager... More

From 8th May 2015 till 3rd June 2015 we were on holiday in Botswana and Zambia. During our holiday we stayed at Tena Tena from 26th May till 30th May. We really enjoyed every moment of our stay at Tena Tena. It was very thrilling to be so close to nature! Tena Tena is beautifully located. The tent accommodation was... More

This was our 6th trip to Tena Tena, and we LOVED it once again! The tents are large and open and delightful; the outdoor bathrooms superb. Bertram is a fantastic guide and we loved the long and lingering times we spent with wild dogs! The food was perfect, especially the brai out on the riverbank by moonlight. The hostess, Christobel,... More

I came to the Tena Tena Camp after 3 nights at the Nkwali Camp, another Robin Pope Safaris camp. Great that the two camps are so different in character. The Tena Tena Camp was established in its present location only a few years ago after the river had threatened to wash away the previous camp. This is a most luxurious... More

Tena Tena provided us with a magical bush experience! We arrived from Nkwali and were transferred by boat across the river to the newly opened camp. We were met by Jacob, who was to be our guide for the next three days and his enthusiasm for everything connected to the South Luangwa National Park was completely infectious. The communal areas... A romantic tented camp with outdoor ensuite bathroom equipped with power for charging. We were undoubtably lucky but we saw leopards up trees, cavorting leopards culminating in mating, lions paddling in the river but not quite crossing, 8 tiny lion cubs, leopard growling at us from a tree before bounding down with a snarl, lost lion calling his pride, leopard...
