It is hard to write something new about this wonderful camp. We spent 4 nights there, and had just a fabulous time. Chalets are more than comfortable, and I particularly loved the outdoor showers!! The staff at Nkwali is first-rate, from the front office personnel (who helped us with transportation issues), to housekeeping, to guides, hosts (and hostess) etc., they... More

Having just landed at Mfuwe airport, it was very nice to be straight away taken into the park for some wildlife spotting, and a drinks at sunset. This set the tone for a great stay at Nkwali camp. We were taken care of very well by the staff who were very welcoming and flexible about how we spent our two... More

What a fantastic place to stay! Whereas it may not be at the plush end of the scale, Nkwali Camp belonging to Robin Pope Safaris is extremely comfortable, with wonderful food - and some of the best safari guides I've ever met!! Our guide, Kanga, was wonderful - eagle-eyed with an encyclopedic knowledge of birds (we saw 127 different kinds!),... More

Our party of four friends enjoyed a wonderful stay at Nkwali. The guides and staff are excellent, the chalets (if not luxurious) are very comfortable , the food is tasty, plentiful and nutritious. The game viewing is wonderful and there is a sense of remoteness in South Luangwa that enhances the safari experience. (Unlike the Masai Mara where continuous contact... More

Especially during the "emerald season". We enjoyed the food; although it was a set menu, dinner was served to guests instead of buffet and there were always adequate and delicious options. The guides were great and we even met the affable Mr. Pope himself--that was a treat! The chalets were nice but you should note that if you are sharing... More

We loved our stay at Nkwali. The camp has a gorgeous location on the river and the cottages were great (although the Sun Squirrel peeing on our bed wasn't ideal!). We really enjoyed being able to view game from our porch during the down times and we had elephants & baboons wandering through camp on most days. We arrived at... More

I have visited Robin Pope Safari Camps on two occasions, bith for extended stays. I have also stayed at two other camps in Africa, both in the Luanga and Livingston area. I would recommend the Pope-run operations for anyone who wants a full-bore African experience. They have it all at Nikwali (and other sites), animals, game drives, food, service and... More

Spent one month in all parts of Africa last Sept./Oct. Our walking safari with Robin Poe was definitely the highlight of our trip. Robin is knowledgable and consumate professional who promotes and supports Zambia in a most positive way. He his wife Jo and all of his staff are the best.

This has to be one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The location of the camp is such that you would hardly notice it if you were driving by, it fits that well into the area. From the greetings we received on arrival, the pre-dawn breakfast, the beautiful setting and room with an open shower, it was amazing... More

I was traveling with a woman friend in Zambia and South Africa. Our travel agent, booked 4 nights in Nkwali...this was the highlight of our trip. The view of the river was amazing, the fact that we had an elephant stick his head over the top of our shower and then walked around to the front of our rooms, the... More
