We stayed at Nkwali for our honeymoon and boy we were not disappointed. The staff were amazing and really looked after our every need. The food was fantastic - plenty of it and of high quality. We were not disappointed as around every corner there was wonderful wildlife to be seen - from beautiful birds to leopards and lions. It... More

Nkwali was a great introduction to safari. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and informative, and the wildlife abundant. The architecture fits beautifully into its setting, with thatched roofs and walls made of adobe with wood accents. Rooms open to a panoramic view of the river where birds, hippos and elephants consistently spend their days. Each room appears to have... More

Spent 2 nights at Nkwali; arrived here after a 2-night stay at Tena Tena; while both camps offer excellent service, food and game drives, they are quite different: Tena Tena is more a sort of a luxurious bush-camp, with tented rooms and in-the-wild bathrooms, whereas Nkwali is more reserved, having walled-in rooms with thatched roofs; Tena Tena is located within... We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at Nkwali. The riverside setting is delightful, the hospitality is warm and welcoming - and the meals were fantastic! Note: with the ever present baboons and monkeys in camp - we left our bags zipped (moving toiletries out of the bathroom each morning) to thwart their "exploration" of our things while out of... We had a lot of good experiences in Botswana and Zambia during our two-week African adventure this summer but our 4-day stay at Nkwali Camp was probably the tops. Guides are everything at these African game park camps and Chris at Nkwali was perhaps the best of the lot during our trip, which covered four camps in two countries. He... More

The setting is lovely..with open rooms overlooking the river. The facilities are excellent. The whole place has been beautifully designed to blend with the natural environment. We felt immediately at home, made extremely welcome by Dodi, Christobelle and the team. Chirunga, our guide is a fund of knowledge and gets the gold medal for finding leopards, by day and by... More

4.5 of 5 Stars Nkwali Camp is a Robin Pope camp located approximately 40 minutes via road transfer from the Mfuwe Airport. It is set on a private conservation located on the banks of the Luangwa River, just across from the South Luangwa National Park. Nkwali is a small intimate and authentic bush camp. For us this was an ideal... More

We travelled for over three months in southern Africa and I think this was our favourite lodge. It is luxurious in the best way with fantastic attention to detail. Greg, the manager was the most hands on manager setting very high standards. His french heritage was evident in the menus and provided a welcome relief from the usual fare in... More

I stayed at Nkwali for 7 nights the first week of November. Everyone at the camp was incredibly welcoming, the food was fantastic and the game drives superb. Kiki and Tomas were excellent guides and went above and beyond in providing amazing wildlife viewing, including 3 days running of African wild dog sightings, a very newborn baby elephant, giraffe and...
