spent 3 unforgettable days at Nkwali. Saw lions, leopard, hippos, buffalo and countless other mammals. Our guide, Kiki was excellent and knowledgable in all aspects of life in S. Luangwa. The staff attended to our every need and the food was impeccable. In short a trip of a lifetime. The camp is located near Mfuwe and easily reached. The only... More

Truly perfect in every way. Setting, sounds, meals and yes the best guides ever. Saw leopards each day, instructive walks and outstanding night drives. Their attention to your comfort and interests is what sets them apart.

Nkwali is on the oopsite shore to the park so each drive starts with a river trip between the pods of hippopotami. The it is into the vehicles and start looking for game. Whilst the driver will see far more than you, the competitive instinct kicks in and everybody on the vehicle (between 2 and 4) starts trying to see... More

I absolutely love staying at Nkwali as the staff are so great at making you feel part of their family. Rooms are excellent with sweeping views of the river and though they have an outdoorsy feel to them, they are still very safe and well kept with excellent amenities. Wildlife viewing is superb with phenomenal leopard sightings throughout the year.... More

The camp is set right on the river with Hippos bellowing occasionally and animals can stroll through the camp as it is all open. The Bar and lounge area are set up under a thatch roof that surrounds a huge mahogany tree and this is where we gathered every night before dinner and for tea in the afternoons before our... More

A lovely camp run by Daudi who is also a first class guide. Game viewing was excellent and done in a very ethical way. Super place to stay. Rooms are spacious. Not for people who are afraid of creepy crawlies or monkeys playing all night in the trees or mice running round the room. But this is Africa and I... More

During our this year’s holiday we stayed at Robin’s House just next door to Nkwali from 30th May 2015 till 2nd June 2015. Robin’s House is a real home. Every moment of our stay was a pleasure not only because of the great location, the homely accommodation and the exciting activities. Each team member contributed a lot to make our... More

This was one of the two Robin Pope Safari camps that I stayed in when visiting South Luangwa. The other was the Tena Tena camp, that is a luxurious riverside bushcamp - very private. During my three days there I didn't see another vehicle. Nkwali Camp is located just outside the National Park on Robin Pope's private ground. During my... More

Nkwali is in a stunning position overlooking the Luangwa River and each of the thatched rooms has a view over the river to the National Park. As you drive across the bridge and look across to the river, it is breathtaking. The rooms are well appointed - keep personal items in bags or the baboons will re-arrange them! The dining... More

I stayed here in February with a group of birdwatching friends (5 in our group). The first night there were no other guests then another couple arrived the second day. The lodge is rustic but very well set out, rooms have everything you need and more than you expect. The dining area is right by the small swimming pool and... More
