Nkwali was our third camp, so it's hard not to compare it to other camps. It's bit more relaxed/casual than other camps i visited, but nice. The food was quite tasty (breakfast & lunch are buffets, dinner is family style - good but if you are a picky eater it might be a challenge). Our trip to Nkwali was a... More

We spent a 3 day weekend at Nkwali, during which time we went out on 5 safaris, including a walking safari. One of our most memorable weekends ever. The accommodations are superb, the food delicious, the staff is top notch - our guides Kiki and Victor highly knowledgeable, helpful, and just fun to spend time with, and junior staff Jonathan... Three nights spent here at the end of October/beginning of November. This is an informal (though by no means basic) camp on the river with excellent game viewing opportunities. The food was varied, tasty and suited our needs well: lots of salad and vegetables at both brunch and dinner. How they do it is nothing short of miraculous - a... More

Thank-you Kiki, Tigger and all the wonderful staff at Nkwali Camp. We stayed for 4 nights at the end of July at the begining of our 4th trip to Africa. We hadnt made it to Zambia before, but had heard it was a fabulous place to see the bush and all the wonderful wildlife Africa has to offer. We were... More

It is hard to write something new about this wonderful camp. We spent 4 nights there, and had just a fabulous time. Chalets are more than comfortable, and I particularly loved the outdoor showers!! The staff at Nkwali is first-rate, from the front office personnel (who helped us with transportation issues), to housekeeping, to guides, hosts (and hostess) etc., they... More

Having just landed at Mfuwe airport, it was very nice to be straight away taken into the park for some wildlife spotting, and a drinks at sunset. This set the tone for a great stay at Nkwali camp. We were taken care of very well by the staff who were very welcoming and flexible about how we spent our two... More

What a fantastic place to stay! Whereas it may not be at the plush end of the scale, Nkwali Camp belonging to Robin Pope Safaris is extremely comfortable, with wonderful food - and some of the best safari guides I've ever met!! Our guide, Kanga, was wonderful - eagle-eyed with an encyclopedic knowledge of birds (we saw 127 different kinds!),... More

Our party of four friends enjoyed a wonderful stay at Nkwali. The guides and staff are excellent, the chalets (if not luxurious) are very comfortable , the food is tasty, plentiful and nutritious. The game viewing is wonderful and there is a sense of remoteness in South Luangwa that enhances the safari experience. (Unlike the Masai Mara where continuous contact... More

Especially during the "emerald season". We enjoyed the food; although it was a set menu, dinner was served to guests instead of buffet and there were always adequate and delicious options. The guides were great and we even met the affable Mr. Pope himself--that was a treat! The chalets were nice but you should note that if you are sharing... More

We loved our stay at Nkwali. The camp has a gorgeous location on the river and the cottages were great (although the Sun Squirrel peeing on our bed wasn't ideal!). We really enjoyed being able to view game from our porch during the down times and we had elephants & baboons wandering through camp on most days. We arrived at... More
