This was our absolutely favourite place and the closest we came to feeling we were living in the wild. We were lucky to keep Gilbert our guide from Kampamba, and he drove us to Kuyenda. The sorgem reed rondavals are wonderfully integrated into the trees, so we felt very close to nature. We only had hurricane lamps and solar lights... More

We were in Kuyenda about 10 days ago for a three day visit. It was the highlight of our trip to the South Luanguwa national park. Simple but luxurious facilities with the bathroom open to the sky and a herd of Zebra in front of our chalet most of the time. Do not even think about going if you need... More

It’s been three weeks since we left Kuyenda, and I find myself staring at our photos with longing, wishing that our vacation had never ended – Kuyenda was that special. The accommodations were cozy, spotlessly clean, and super comfortable, with breath-taking views. Our room’s open-air bathroom with soothing sand underfoot bolstered the bush camp feel, yet somehow seemed both luxurious... More

This is WHAT A BUSH CAMP IS ALL ABOUT This was our first visit to this Camp and our fourth visit with The Bushcamp. Previously we have been in May before the Camp opened. It will not be our Last Visit to Kuyenda It has all the facilities required. The Chalets are spacious with very comfortable beds. Hosted by Babette... More

This bushcamp is situated close to a dry riverbed with the chalets overlooking a grassy floodplain. Of the three bushcamps that I stayed at, in South Luangwa, this was the most rustic. The chalets are small reed and thatch with attached bathroom/loo open to the sky. Three are located on one side of the reception while the fourth one is... More

What a place. If you want something a little more outback, rustic or bushy then this is the place. All the comforts just a little close to nature try this. The food was amazing. Clean and very comfortable and more big Cats than I thought possible. Susio was the best guide I have ever met and I've met plenty. So... More

This camp was my favorite of the five bushcamps that I stayed in while in Zambia recently. It is both rustic and homey, nicely decorated and simple. Phil Berry, Babette Alfieri, and the camp staff made our stay feel like we were guests in their home - all were very friendly, extremely accommodating, provided excellent meals, and seemed to go... We stayed at Kuyenda for two nights and liked it a lot! It's a temporary camp that has to be taken down after the season and is built from natural materials only. It therefore offers a wonderful experience of life in the bush. Returning to camp after great sightings and taking a shower under the open sky is probably the... More

Like other reviewers I can only echo what has been said before. Phil, Babette and the staff make visiting Kuyenda a truly unique experience, even amongst the other Bushcamps, and we will always remember and cherish the time we spent sitting round the fire or over sundowners hearing all the wonderful stories of life in the parks. We had some... More

After a disappointing stay at Mfuwe lodge our spirits lifted immediately on the drive away from the crowds around Mfuwe to the relative isolation of Kuyenda. Upon arrival at the camp we felt we had discovered the safari Eden that you know exists but you so seldomly find. Just 3 rondavel rooms for guests, a main dining/lounge area, a few... More
