A very special spot in the hills next to the river. A spectacular view over the Luangwa River and the surroundings. Clear swimming pool water from where you can spy on the afternoon river activities. This is really a place to turn off the cell phone and let GOD the rest.

We overnight at Bridge camp during August and was pleasantly surprised at this establishment. It is well located when on route to Chipata. Dinner and breakfast on request and the food was good. Lovely views over the river and also a pool for those hot days. The rondavels are basic but clean with mosquito nets. Thanks to Doughnut for making... More

We stayed in the A frame chalet which was nice, clean and spacious for the 6 of us (3 adults and 3 kids under 11). The poolside bar and pool were very comfortable (and clean) and the food was nice too. Drinks and food were a bit pricey but not outrageous, especially given the remoteness of the location. I could... More

Exceeded my expectations. The view is great, camping is reasonably priced. The lounge areas are comfortable and the pool is the cleanest I have seen while traveling Africa the past three months. Recommended break on the long drive between south luangwe and lusaka.

After reading such bad reviews we were almost afraid to go here but it wasn't bad at all. As was the only place in the area we didn't have much choice anyway. The manager Jerry was a very friendly and helpful guy. An older couple owns the place but only she was around. She was making sure the staff was... More

One night staying in one of the A frame chalets here was more than enough. With very little accommodation between South Luangwa and Lusaka, Bridge Camp has something of a captive market; in the hands of other owners it could be a great stop. On the plus side, the camp is next to the Luangwa river and there are lovely... More

It was prearranged and we were a large group, you'd expect an alright camping site, but no, it was the carpark. 20 people in a carpark! Camping! With a rat haven/ rubbish dump/ storm drain next to us. The road was right next door so sleep was near impossible. Another aspect is that the owners were drunken and were calling... More

The drive to South Luangwa Park can be very long and a good suggestion is to break it up with a night at Bridge Camp. Bridge camp is on the Luangwa River, and in fact the opposite shore is the nation of Malawi. It takes about three and one half hours to reach Bridge Camp from Lusaka. It is adjacent... More

The worst mistake of our wonderful Zambian trip was staying at this lodge. The owners were initially welcoming but soon we found that they were nasty and rude to each other which was very uncomfortable for us. The owner even swore at his kitchen staff right within earshot of where we were sitting for breakfast. No matter what the staff... More

This place is not in South Luangwa National Park but a full day's drive away and the only real stop-off if you are coming from South Luangwa. Three of the four couples stayed in the chalets and we camped. The chalets were ok and our rooftop tent was also fine although the ablutions were dirty and in great need of... More
