Betesda Lodge was better than we expected - the room was large but very dated, however the communal areas are really great. Nice pool, lovely large dining area, great terraces to enjoy a drink. There are no recommended hiking trails and the scenic sundowner drive wasn't available so it was a very quiet day! Friendly service. Dinner both nights was... More

This lodge is conveniently located a couple of kilometers from the entrance to Sossusvlei. The chalets are very nice - offering astonishing sunrise, sunset and stargazing views. The staff is very friendly and the sundowner drive was the best one we had in Namibia. The cactea garden and the pool are two additional features which make this lodge recommendable. Also... More

We stayed here for one night, after a long long drive from Windhoek, this small lodge gave us a warm welcome and cozy rooms. Maybe because of located in desert, there are not many kinds of food. The view from the room was very beautiful. It's about 40 minutes drive from the gate of the park, so we can see... More

The road is long....to many a winding road...untill you get here from Walvisbaai.... We were tired, irritated and hot when we arrived here. But as soon as we were booked in and settled in our rooms we were stunned by the silence and beauty of this part of Namibia. After dinner we spoke to the owner and he assured us... More

We camped here for one night, the property is beautifully located between the mountains. Great scenery! The ablution blocks are a bit old, but the water is warm and the room is heated. Swimming pool is tiny and was very dirty when we visited... We wanted to do a quad tour, but it was not possible because the guide was... More

Camping areas are set walking distance away from the main lodge. Each spot set under beautiful, old acacia tree - if they could only tell their stories of the seasons gone by! I love trees, so it's a pure delight to sit in the evening and late at night by the fire, under their lovely branches. You can listen to... More

The staff are helpful and pleasant. The rooms are clean, functional with little terraces. The grounds are very well maintained and attractive. The only problem was the food. A limited lunch offer included something called "chicken roll". This is another way of saying "mechanically recovered chicken with added water and gelatine". Dinner was staggering. Prisoners in Guatemalan jails would expect... More

I gave this lodge only two stars because of how pricey it is for what is offered! For 4 people, our overnight stay came out to about 80€ per person, sharing a very hot and very basic motel-style room. The staff was nice enough and there is a nice pool, but 320€ is on par with NYC prices! It's true... More

Visited Betesda 27-29 Sept. 2011. Very warm welcome from all staff esp. as we arrived at short notice after a change of plans. Very comfortable rooms with ac (needed). Plenty of hot water for morning & evening showers. Excellent trip to Sossusvlei with Smithy (arranged by lodge) which included lots of ice cold drinks & a substantial breakfast, which we... More

We visited Betesda on 12 and 13 Sept 2011. There was absolutely nothing we could complain about. The recepstionist personally took us to our room, show us around and offered us coffee/tea, which is available in the reception area any time of day. Special arrangements were made for our breakfast the following morning seeing that we left the lodge at... More
