We spent 3 nights at Sesriem campsite. The location is excellent since you're inside the park already (a stone's throw from other establishments outside), which gives one preferential access to the trip to the dunes in the morning, and of course to the nearby Elim dune for a quick trip at sunset. The individual campsites are mostly excellent, and you... More

Ironman 224's review of Sesriem Camp is so spot on - I only wish that I'd read it before we went. Yes - Go for the sunset instead of the sunrise at Dune 45. We were like ants marching our way up at sunrise - not for the faint hearted or none too fit! We were a group of 8... More

Some people say this camp site sucks, it's overpriced, stay at the Desert Camp outside the park, etc.. we thought it was a great campsite. Every site is large, has a tree for shade, water, power, a big light, a braai, is -very- clean, and has a little rock wall surrounding you to keep the sand out. The pool is... More

The camp is located inside the Namib Naukluft National Park. We had a very good campsite looking towards the Elim dune. The amenities were clean & there is a lovely pool area. The bar had a good atmosphere & the shop was well stocked. Note: the second day was very windy & there was lots of dust everywhere which one... More

It's the only chance to reach the dunes prior sunrise. Everyone outside the national park has to wait until sunrise. Be aware that it's approx. an hour to drive towards the dunes. We managed to get a place in the overflow area (T6) which is quite a walk to the toilet shower area. The staff is like all other NWR... More

We found the campsite very good - light and electric point at site very useful and clean ablution blocks, BUT the staff at the shop and restaurant need some help with how to deal with the puplic. The receptionist was excellent - very helpful and told us everything we needed to know, but the shop/restaurant staff were particulaly unhelpful when... More

This camp site is located at the gate to the national park although it is still and hour to the main dunes car park so expect some early mornings to see the best of the dunes. The plots on the campsite are shady and nice and those on the outside edges have good views. There is a pool and a... More

Seariem was easily the best of the sites we stayed at in our 2 week trip to Namibia. The individual sites themselves were all nicely shaded with walls, benches and firepits. The pool was large and clean, the shop was well stocked an the bar was manned by friendly staff. Anything we couldn't get here (internet access) was available just... More

Sesriem Rest Camp sits at the gate to the park, and if you want early morning/sunrise photos or the experience of being there this is your only real option. You could stay other places that require you to rise even earlier than the 5am time we did to be in loine at the gate when it opened at 5:45 so... More

Spent 2 nights at Sesriem to discover the dunes of the namib. The hotel is very busy with tourists and has a fairly well stocked shop, and a petrol station. I was on the original part of the camp site, which is excellent and has a nearby pool and bar (with drinks in a vending machine). The facilities are adequate... More
