The main lodge bar and dining room are spectacular! The thatched roofed lodge set into the rocks with even their own petroglyphs is lovely, the rooms are nowhere you want to hang out, the pool is small, the bottom covered in moss and nothing special either. The staff was not particular friendly or helpful, especially those in the bar and... More

On an Explore trip with a group so everything was pre arranged. Spectacular setting at the base of red cliffs/rocks. The lodge was unexpected in terms of main building, dramatic with its interesting thatched roof where the restaurant and bar is located. The rooms are spread quite far so expect a walk to the restaurant but this is not a... More

Why on earth we stayed only one night here, I just cannot fathom. This was one of the high points in our trip to Namibia this year. The only very minor criticism would be concerning parking of vehicles very far from our room. One could off load at a reasonable distance but then the slog to get the forgotten binoculars and... More

We spent just one night here en route farther north in Damaraland. Although the lodge is perfectly situated to view the engravings at nearby Twyfelfontein, we were happy we only spent one night here. The rooms are quite small and hot, without basic amenities like a safe or soap for the shower. When we checked in at the lodge, we... More

We were camping nearby in the Mowani Campsite and organised a elephant game drive with these guys. Turned up at 7 am , met Carlos the manager who apologise profusely for the delay we were about to endure and laid on a free breakfast. his manner and service was a benchmark only others could hope to aspire to. The surrounds... More

We stayed here one night on our tour of Namibia as a stopping off point to see the rock engravings. It's a very lovely hotel set among the rocks and cliffs. The thatch roof architecture fits in very nicely with the natural environment. The rooms are quite spacious but you will need a flashlight to walk to the main restaurant... More

the rooms were clean and tidy, but not super luxurious. the lodge however is a marvel of design and architecture being built into the side of the red mountain - it cleverly blends nicely into the environment making a subtle statement. you hardly know it's there, even when you finally drive into the carpark. To get to reception there is... More

The main lodge is remarkable. I loved the natural boulders being used as floor and ramps. The bar area is very nice and the personnel were friendly. The restaurant has a pretty standard buffet (on par with the other Namibian lodges we stayed at) with good variety, if pretty bland. The rooms are basic, but perfectly adequate. We were there... We spent 2 nights here on a self-drive holiday in Namibia. The rooms are fine, the large restaurant layout has a great open-sided feel & good views. Nice buffet breakfast and dinner and a comfy bar area which did cake and tea/coffee in the afternoon. Service was friendly and the location is good for the rock art and other outdoor... More

The rooms here are very ordinary - like a Comfort Inn in the USA. But the main building is interestingly designed to blend in with its setting and the view from its lounge and restaurant is stunning. As another reviewer has mentioned we also were not informed that an afternoon tea is provided as part of the hotel fare. We... More
