Reviews on Tripadvisor had made us apprehensive, but we enjoyed our night at the lodge. It started poorly. The welcome was hit and miss. We were not told everything we needed to know, e.g. how to get your cases to your room (you can drive round and drop them off), that there is an astronomer who shows you the night... More

Stayed at this lodge for one night on the way to Etosha and wish we had picked a different place to stay. I know that it's usually all about location, location, location and there probably aren't many places to stay within this long stretch, but this place leaves alot to be desired in spite of the fact that it's a... Our tour group from New Zealand came here on our way from Swakopmund to Etosha. It is a spectacular hotel in a spectacular location, embedded in the rock at the foot of as red rocky slope. From the main building one looks out over the desert and distant hills. The units are somewhat dated but acceptable. But it is a... More

This was one of the most expensive lodges we stayed in during our vacation in Namibia, but it was not nearly the best. The rooms were clean and spacious, but the bathrooms need renovation. The dinner was good, but over-priced. Twyfelfontein is a VERY hot area, and there is no AC in the rooms, just fans, that does not make... More

Do NOT avoid this place due to reviews as it IS a special place to visit. Other recent reviewers have done my job well with their reports. Rooms were like basic motel units rather than what one would expect of a country lodge in a very remote and special part of Namibia. Lots of tours stay here so they are... More

What a surprise...having to walk through actual rock crevices to reach the reception. A wonderful construction with the inclined path to the bar an actual rock surface. The view from our lodge was very picturesque. The accommodation is a little dated, and it's a bit of an ordeal having to keep moving the car to the parking lot. We bought... More

The main lodge at Twyfelfontein is imbedded in a rock face and it looks fantastic. The bar area overlooks a very small and quite dirty looking pool but, otherwise, the views are superb. The same cannot be said of the bedrooms however. Twyfelfontein is a very hot location. There is no AC in the rooms and the overhead fan barely... More

This hotel is in a truly stunning setting and from afar looks like a very exclusive and expensive place. It has a lot of potential but the rooms are in desperate need of updates. There is no A/C, which is not abnormal in Namibia, but the ceiling and floor fans could not do anything but circulate hot air. I spent... More

Friendly welcome at the lodge. The rooms urgently need renovation. Most dissapointing was the food, the staff helped themselves with the best pieces of meat before all guests were served, we ended then up with a very dry lamb roast. Breakfast was ok.

The lodge is set back built into the rock face. It's stunning! From afar it looks like it could be paradise.... But alas, no. The rooms were very basic with no airflow, no fan, no air con - made for a very uncomfortable stay in 35degree heat! We had no hot water, nor electrical power in the rooms. The food... More
