This is a lovely lodge in the wilds of Namibia. It is nestled in amongst the rocks. It has it's own rock art area, which is fascinating and although I didn't use it, the pool looked most attractive. I visited as part of a Titan tour. The restaurant is in a lovely setting and we very much enjoyed the impromptu... More

This lodge is located in a beautiful natural area, it is surrounded by red colored mountains and nestled right along them. The views are beautiful. This said, I gave it a 4 rating because unfortunately, the rooms didn't have air conditioning and it was very very hot, despite the ceiling fan. There is no cross circulation in the room, so... More

This is a beautiful place for a lodge, built into the hillside, with an entrance walkway through rocks and 5,000 year old rock carvings in the grounds. The chalet was comfortably, if simply equipped, with ceiling fan and a freestanding one, too. The pool was a great relief on a very humid day, although the bottom of it was a little... More

We didn't stay here as we were camping at a nearby spot but we discovered the bar area at Twyfelfontein Country Lodge and couldn't have been happier. All of the staff that we met were incredibly helpful and conversational. They went so far as to offer to help us book a desert elephant and nature tour if the tour from... More

This is a very nice lodge, in a fabulous setting. We enjoyed cooling off in the pool and the buffet dinners were fantastic, the best food we had in Namibia. The staff were friendly enough. The bar area is fantastic, though the rooms could do with a little work. Overall a good choice in the area.

My take is that Twyfelfontein is more of a stopover between Etosha and Swakopmund than a destination in itself. The rock carvings are really interesting and I very much enjoyed the tour, but it only takes an hour. The hotel itself is in a beautiful setting. It's a reasonably big hotel (over 60 rooms), but it's really nicely done and... More

I am thankful for your review and pleased to know we made your stay worthwhile. Twyfelfontein and Damaraland is more than just a stopover. I am sorry to hear you received a twin room and not a double and about the strong smell of the cleaning material used. We will definitely take this into consideration. We are very proud of... More

The hotel is quite spread out and we were a 5 minute walk to the main hotel area. The rooms were quite small but very clean and quiet. The main building had a lovely bar area with great views. The restaurant is large and a buffet Skye dinner had plenty of choice. A good place to stay in an area... More

Stayed for 3 nights and found it to be a lovely place. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food (buffet) excellent. The breakfast choice is good, and omelettes are cooked to order. We went on the desert elephant trek which was really good and well worth doing. Whilst there is no guarantee you will find the elusive elephants,... More

This is a no fuss or frills lodge with a fantastic view in a great area. The surrounding area is amazing. The pool is very welcoming after a very long hot day traveling. I love the bar and restaurant.

After a dry, dusty ride through the desert, the lodge appears against the rock back wall, almost as a mirage. From a distance it did not look like much, but the lodge has its charm. The rooms were clean and pleasant and the view from our rooms was beautiful. I liked the privacy of the rooms as we had 3... More
