I've divided my review into the lodge itself and secondly some tips for viewing the local sites. 1) In terms of the lodge itself you're paying for the location and it's close proximity to the rock art, also the design of the main building / grounds set into the mountain, housing the restaurant and bar which are lovely and provide... First appearances of the lodge are fantastic, the whole lodge is subtly built into the surrounding rocks and the bar and restaurant have great views of Damaraland. There is a small pool that both the tourists and wildlife enjoy, the pool waterfall attracts many varieties of lizards and birds but none ventured into the pool itself. (We also found ourselves... Visited the lodge twice without sleeping there as we were sleeping at the nearby Abu Huab camp site. Lovely setting with original rock engravings on site. Nice pool and bar area. The lunch consisted of an acceptable burger, but we had an absolutely awful 3 course dinner served in less than 45 min. We couldn't finish our main courses due... More

Super setting into the rocks and sympathetically done. The hotel has a main building, which they use for the pictures, but the rooms are in 7 single storey blocks around the base of the mountain so there is fair amount of walking from car to room to restaurant. The food was the best we have had so far in Namibia.... More

One night stay review. 3 score rating thanks to the restaurant and the tasty food. Had a wonderful dinner here with very an affordable and good wine selection. The room was poor furnished, two single beds, no airco and too dark in the evening. No complimentary water in the room (hot-hot-hot). No wifi available. Staff in restaurant was friendly others...less.... More

This lodge is fantastically situated in between the mountains. The rooms are average but the location and the rest make up for that. The main building is so nice against the rocks. Even in winter it is nice and warm.

In an inspiring location with a series of multiple unit lodge buildings in a U shape backed up against a red rubble cliff. There is a small pool with a few loungers some of which are well shaded. Rooms basic with fans but no a/c, rather dark. The toilet and shower are functional. Very friendly and helpful staff. Service good... More

We loved this lodge. The pluses are; its location - close to the main attractions and wonderfully set into the surrounding rocks ; its staff, especially the great help we got from the workshop when we had a problem with one of our tyres ; the central reception/bar/dining area - a great place to relax with a fantastic panorama of... Stayed here for one night and agree with all the reviews already written. The main lodge building is gorgeous. The surroundings stunning. Lovely pool area. The food buffet style, very good. The rooms however, leave a lot to be desired. We were in rooms 18 and 19. Nothing horrendous, just basic and the worst we stayed in on our whole... More

Stopped for one night during a three week self drive. Had read TA reviews prior to our visit and had lower expectations. This lodge is in a very beautiful setting - dramatic red rocks overlooking a Damaraland valley. That is where the magic ends. On check in we were assigned a room, given a key, and told to settle bar... More
