Superb location, on a hill and amongst huge rocks. Tents are spacious, very well and fully equipped, some with a scenic view, some amongst the rocks. Very nice set-up for the dining and sitting room, wonderful flat rock for sunset view with a drink, overlooking the whole area. Food was ok and correct but we could expect a standard a... More

We stayed for one night at Mowani Mountain Camp and had a wonderful time there. All members of the staff were very friendly and tried to make us feel comportable. The room (tent) was very clean and nicely decorated, as were the lounge and dining area. In the morning, we took part in the search for the desert elephants. It... More

The Mowani is a world of its own, you drive up a nice windy sand road to be nicely greeted by the friendly guard and then follow the signs to the reception area, where you will be awaited by a group of staff. Already here you can only imagine what's awaiting you. Greeted and directed to the Lodges lounge for... More

We spent unfortunately only one night at Mowani! We should have spent at least two nights! Beautiful tents, very comfortable, stunning views, and the location is just amazing! Immersed in the middle of these colossal boulders, Mowani is peace heaven! The service was excellent, and the food was very good as well. Staff is extremely helpful and management always present.... Mowani Mountain Camp was one of the most beautiful properties we stayed at during our time in Namibia. We arrived and were greeted by staff and management as if we were old friends. Wet towels and cold drinks were provided as soon as we arrived and we were lead to a common area where we sat and completed paperwork and... More

We didn't stay at the lodge but instead at the campsites - which are very nice with their own baths, kitchen area and shaded seating area. Our first impression was mixed as you go up to the main lodge to check in to the camps but are then quite abruptly reminded that you don't get to use any of the... More

We went camping in Mowani (lodge fully booked and we could not afford that anyhow) and the campsites are worth it. Each with their own fire pit, kitchen and bathroom - unfortunately the wood for the "donkey" to make hot water never arrived despite us asking several times. The views over the Damaraland are spectacular with the sun setting at... More

We stayed on the campsite, not in the lodge itself. And I couldn't decide whether to rate it as average or as very good. But eventually I went for 'very good' due to the following reasons.... We went on a game drive to see elephants, one of the main reasons we stayed here, and we did get really close to... More

Our recent stay at Mowani was both extraordinarily amazing and very disappointing. The ecologically sensitive and clever architecture of the camp deserves high marks. The views from the dining room and especially the view point are unsurpassed. The privacy in some of the accommodations is marvelous. Unfortunately some of the promised services such as air conditioning are non existent. The... More

t's amazing, the perfect spot and one with nature. It has breathtaking views from atop one of the big boulders where they serve sundowners every night. The journey to the lodge is quite a trip , but it is near the Twelfontein rock painting. All the huts have a outdoor bathroom, which is something else. The service was very good,... More
