This Wilderness camp is located in spectular scenery, very much like the South West of US. In fact our guide told us that geologically, the two areas are related! The camp staff went out of their way to learn the names of everyone in our 6 person group, a feat they all accomplished I n under 5 minutes. The service... More

Damaraland is a really special place in Namibia and especially supernatural. The breathtaking scenery sought absolute peacefulness. The breakfest taking on the top of the hill with the sunrise is magical, the possibility of having a surprise dinner in the middle of ... nowhere, with a sky full of stars. The staff is the nicest one in the world, and... More

Damaraland Camp, nestled among the glowing hills and mountains of the remote Torra Conservancy, was by far my favorite place in Namibia. Not only is it spectacularly beautiful, but its radiant sunrises and sunsets are matched, exceeded even, by the genuine warmth and kindness of the staff. The manager, Maggie, and assistant manager, Alexia, greeted all of us by name... More

We saw the desert adapted elephant on two separate occasions and that in itself made our stay at D Camp worthwhile. We also saw Rhino all be it at a distance. The landscape around the camp is outstanding... Unlike anything I have seen elsewhere. Here lies the first disappointment. I wanted to learn more about the landscape but our guide... More

We stayed here with our son as part of a road trip around Northern Namibia, for 2 nights 17-19 July. The camp is situated in the dramatic Damaraland Etendeka Mountains; a harsh but beautiful landscape. There is opportunity for viewing desert elephant and black rhino, but we opted for individual walks in the mountains, where we saw gemsbok (oryx) and... More

Dear ThatsMySunbed, Thank you for the fantastic review it is always uplifting when we can see that our guests have embraced the true beauty of Namibia. The Torra Conservancy is situated in the Bergsig-De Riet area of the former district of Damaraland, now known as the Kunene Region. It covers an enormous area (some 5000km2), encompassing a stretch of the... More

A jewel in the sand! My husband and I have visited 75 countries over the last 11 years and we must say that Namibia will now take the #1 spot as the most beautiful and wonderful place we've ever visited in the world! Part of the reason we feel this way is because of our incredible stay at the extremely... More

Dear 80Countries, Thank you for your fabulous review of Damaraland and our staff, we cannot wait to share your heartfelt words with all our staff in camp. Although not immediately apparent, this area supports a surprising variety of mammals, birds and reptiles. The environment is varied, from sparsely-grassed mountain slopes to riverine vegetation, typical Etendeka lava plains with Euphorbia, Acacia... More

This location was in our two and half week journey trough Namibia the most idyllic place. Like all Namibians, the welcoming was gently, but the experience we've got here was like a fairy tale. Because I don't want to reveal the surprise, I'll not go to tell everything, but know that the rooms are top, the food is more than... More

Damaraland camp is a wonderful camp, with friendly staff and great service. We were invited to the traditional camp fire dinner, it was very well done and the food was great. The Damaraland camp is a good camp, the food is fine and the rooms are ok but we are missing the finishing touch witch will make this camp til a top camp. People are friendly, food is good, The Boma evening was great. The guide does his job very well. The basic rooms are clean but not more than basic.

Beautiful camp in a awesome location. Damaraland itself is truly spectacular. Very friendly staff who work hard. We had a breakfast in the mountains - uuhh loved it. Be prepared for loads of mossies and not to see the desert elephants as the area is immense.
