Our experience with Camp Kipwe has been a far from happy one. Whilst staying there we had a significant amount of money stolen from our bags in our locked room. We did not discover the loss of the money until we had moved on to Etosha . Thanks to some super efforts from our agent in Windhoek ( David and... More

We really liked Camp Kipwe. It was recommended and booked for us by Imagine Africa. The initial reception was good and professional and we got shown to our rooms (1 and 2) relatively quickly. The rooms are unusual, rather like rocky igloos. Whoever designed them had a fantastic concept and the ability to think in three dimensions such that each... More

We stayed at Camp Kipwe for one night after leaving Swakopmund early in the morning. We took the long drive alongside skeleton coast and were very happy we were greeted so warmly by Taffy upon arrival. Check-in went smoothly and we decided to join for the morning drive in search of the desert-adapted elephants. Our suite was beautiful, with fabulous... More

We only stayed one night but could've stayed longer. The rock huts interwoven amongst the local boulders is a great concept. Staff, food and service was excellent. The lodge mangers were very friendly and helpful. What magnificent sunset & sunrise views from the upper rock viewpoint. Loved the outside bathroom - breathtaking country....a must see/stay.

We spent 2 nights af this wonderful and very unique place. The camp is difficult to spot from a distance as it is very cleverly build into a hill of big round red rocks. The rooms (huts) are round and very nicely equipped. The outdoor bathroom is also very nice but the toilet seat gets extremely hot during the day.... More

This lodge is amazing. All huts are different because integrated in large rocks. The bathroom has no ceiling, fresh air flows between the rocks: wonderful showering experience. Our room had a very nice view over the plains. The begging geckos kept laughing from dusk toll dawn.

We spent 2 wonderful nights here. Our domed room was very unusual, with outside sitting area and a wonderful outside bathroom. Perfectly private. The food was excellent as was the service. And the sundowner spot was something not to be missed. Just order your drinks at the bar and they appear at the top of the rocks, where there is... More

My wife and I stayed at Kipwe for two nights in July 2014. It is as magical as other reviews have mentioned. Just relaxing among the rocks is an experience, and the sundowner spot at the top of the hill is awesome. Our room. a domed stone structure with an outside (but totally private) bathroom and a terrace overlooking the... More

This is a stunning place to stay, lovely rooms with great "outdoor" bathroom . The views overlooking Damaraland from our room & bathroom, the dining area and the "sundowner" rock are magnificent. Unfortunately, we only stayed here 1 night. We went on the Desert Elephant trek and found 21 in and along the river bed. Also came across lion tracks,... More

Set In the stunningly beautiful mountain and boulder strewn countryside of Southern Damaraland, Camp Kipwe is like an oasis of calm, quality and place of rejuvenation. The views from all rooms are simply magnificent, particularly at sunrise and sunset and the memory of drinking a cocktail sundowner on top of a mighty rock will last forever. The rooms are beautifully... More
