My wife and I stayed at Kipwe for two nights in July 2014. It is as magical as other reviews have mentioned. Just relaxing among the rocks is an experience, and the sundowner spot at the top of the hill is awesome. Our room. a domed stone structure with an outside (but totally private) bathroom and a terrace overlooking the... More

This is a stunning place to stay, lovely rooms with great "outdoor" bathroom . The views overlooking Damaraland from our room & bathroom, the dining area and the "sundowner" rock are magnificent. Unfortunately, we only stayed here 1 night. We went on the Desert Elephant trek and found 21 in and along the river bed. Also came across lion tracks,... More

Set In the stunningly beautiful mountain and boulder strewn countryside of Southern Damaraland, Camp Kipwe is like an oasis of calm, quality and place of rejuvenation. The views from all rooms are simply magnificent, particularly at sunrise and sunset and the memory of drinking a cocktail sundowner on top of a mighty rock will last forever. The rooms are beautifully... More

Our guide had prepared us for a beautiful place after the ordinary place we had just been at, but, even with the preparation, we were astonished at what we saw. Coming in from lots of nowhere, we saw the large granite boulders and then the structures. We arrived shortly before sunset so we literally rushed up the steps carved into... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in April and we enjoyed every bit of it: the surroundings, the sundowner spot, the nice staff, the great food, the evening we were offered a separate table for our honeymoon, the swimming pool, the rooms and the outdoor bathroom, ... The only thing we are sorry for is that at that time the... More

12 of us (all friends) stayed here and not one of us could find fault with anything. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome - the whole atmosphere was simply stunning. The service outstanding. The rooms were unique and the beds comfortable. There was very little that staff had not thought of. The meals were... More

One of the most unique and beautiful places in Namibia. The rooms have been created by piling up boulders; the landscaping is gorgeous. Loved the outdoor shower and sink, and the beautiful views from each "cottage" as well as the main lodge. Serivce in dinig room was just okay, but the beauty of the place makes up for any lacks.

I am so sorry that our travel agent only got us one night bed and breakfast at this wonderful place. We would have loved to have stayed here longer. The way that the 8-bedroom lodge is organised to blend in with the rocks and scenery is awe-inspiring, as you will see from my photos. The evening meal was excellent, and... More

We loved our stay in this hideaway for Hobbits. The rooms are round and delightful. Yes, the shower room is outside, but that's very common in the poshest of tropical places these days. Personally, I found having a snake visit us in our shower room hilarious, although my wife was a little less impressed, judging by the speed at which... More

This lodge was recommended by one of our friends and we were expected a relaxing stay and one of the most memorable lodge of our trip in Namibia. Unfortunately, it ended as the WORST one. Indeed, accommodations looks like a gloomy cave in term of shape and light. Moreover, it's definitely not so eco friendly as it seemed to pretend:... More
