We stayed in Njaya for 2 nights from 03rd to 06th February 2015, the welcoming was great, although we arrived late night...because of the transportation which was a nightmare...but generally staff were amazing, friendly made us feel at home, definitely a place to be in Nkhata Bay. Food also was excellent, the bar and restaurant view to the lake was... More

Third trip to Njaya. Little has changed. Staff are excellent, food is great and the atmosphere second to none. Really like the improvements to the bar and dining area. Delighted to be able to get visit the same time as Paul & Collete who were great hosts. The best little lodge in Africa

Njaya is the original lodge at Nkhata Bay, founded 20 years ago by the still-current owner, Paul. It's a good option if you don't want the full-on backpacker vibe of nearby Butterfly Space or Mayoka Village. Food was mostly good, rates are reasonable, and the view over the lake from the attractive bar/dining area are lovely. The two stone-built 'beach... More

Had two bites of the Njaya Lodge cherry, first for a few days and then a return one-night stay a week or so later; both very good experiences. Stunning views; great & tasteful design & furnishings in a beautiful lush beach garden. Made to feel very welcomed by Paul & Colette, visiting owners who largely leave the operations to the... More

Njaya Lodge - Nkhata Bay - Knacred Fantastic location! Excellent staff, and excellent service. This lodge, which once had fantastic facilities now needs a serious upgrade. 15 years ago the poor workmanship may have been excused as TIA, this now is no longer valid. The fittings are old and some look dangerous (fusebox in one room for example), doors don't... More

Spent a couple of days in Njaya and thoroughly enjoyed it. Gilbert and Dixon are amazing and do everything they can to ensure your trip is completely stress free. The lodge is ran by Malawians and you get the true feelings that you are part of the community. Food and bar areas are great and the views are amazing. The... More

Nkhata Bay has a lot of history,Paul and Clare back in the day had a dream-to build a little piece of Heaven to share with fellow travellers, many years later their dream comes true. I have visited Njaya many times and the smile not only on the guests faces but the loving staff says a lot!! Besides the good food,cold... More

We absolutely loved our experience at Njaya Lodge. It was our first time there and we stayed in two different chalets and the experience was beautiful! Our verandah looked out on to the lake and Paul (the owner) and his gf visiting from England and all the staff were absolutely the warmest and friendliest people ever. The food was actually... More

As this was my first trip to Malawi, I wasn't sure what to expect but staying at this beautiful beachside lodge made my virgin voyage exceptional. The exquisite setting of these lovely chalets built into the hillside overlooking the lake, was breathtaking alone. However, what I wasn't prepared for was the wonderful atmosphere at Njaya. I was fortunate enough to... More

Part of our tour which we unfortunately managed 2 stay only 1 nyt in the beautiful stone chalet just on the beach. waking up to the breaking of the waves along the rocks was just amazing. The best of all was the food which was reasonable and mouthwatering i would definately recommend this place to all. Grant n Gill
