Was looking to stay here for a night and stayed here for 5. Ricki and Jess were good value, with Mickey a friendly face behind the bar. Everyone meets each other at the lodge so its good vibes. It is cash only with one cash point in town. A fun and friendly walk into town with plenty of big Malawian... More

It was in an absolute fab location and great place to stay and the owner will accommodate all the different budget travellers. Staff were not very friendly apart from Jessy and the owner attitudes towards her staff were not very pleasant. Perhaps its the time for her to review the situation and staffing.

Plus side: Friendly staff, nice owner, and the temporary assistant Jessie was great. Nice location. Decent coffee and food. Downside: I don't usually stay in backpackers so maybe it's par for the course, but to me it all seemed in need of deep cleaning and freshening up e.g. new tablecloths. The staff need customer care training - they are pleasant... More

Mufasa is definently a place were you can get stuck because its so nice and beautiful! The Owner Riki and the Staff is so welcoming and friendly, that you feel like home. We first stayed in the dorm which is really nice and than moved for two more nights into the double room. The Mosquito nets are very good and... More

We stayed for two nights in a two person room. Good bed and perfect mosquito net. (straight up on the sides) It was MK10.000 per night for the both of us. It also has a perfect swimming spot. Personal is friendly. We thought the food was a bit expensive. KW3200 for a plate of pasta, KW3500 for English breakfast. Also... More

I went to the mufasa lodge with a group of friends for two nights. The site is incredible, such a nice bay with incredible views. The rooms are basic but very cheap. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and made us feel like we were at home. After spending a night at another place we found ourselves back in mufasa,... More

For a start it is classed as a location in Mangochi. To be fair this could be a postal code(ZIP) issue but it is actually situated about 40 miles north of Mangochi. Hence rated no4 in the Mangochi area. A very pretty little location,in a very small isolated bay giving a lot of privacy, however from the Monkey bay "centre" it... More

Hello Mr. Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry you had this negative experience at our small paradise. Let me explain to you what happened in that period of time when you and your family came to visit. This particular "manager'' was only at Mufasa for a few weeks. This particular weekend I was in Lilongwe and only heard about... More

Stayed here for a week with three of my friends while traveling through Malawi and in that short time the staff made if very difficult to want to leave. From day one everyone was extremely welcoming and made us feel like we were a part of their family. The campsites on the mountain are amazing and you get to hear... More

We arrived without a reservation and were friendly welcomed by Rikki and her team. We were the only campers and had a great beachfront camping spot with view of the lake and the picturesque surroundings. In the mornings we were woken up by the cry of the fish eagles! The ablution facilities with cold showers only, are beautifully decorated but... More
