I went to the mufasa lodge with a group of friends for two nights. The site is incredible, such a nice bay with incredible views. The rooms are basic but very cheap. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and made us feel like we were at home. After spending a night at another place we found ourselves back in mufasa,... More

For a start it is classed as a location in Mangochi. To be fair this could be a postal code(ZIP) issue but it is actually situated about 40 miles north of Mangochi. Hence rated no4 in the Mangochi area. A very pretty little location,in a very small isolated bay giving a lot of privacy, however from the Monkey bay "centre" it... More

Dear Mr. Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry you had this negative experience in our small paradise but I'm delighted to inform you that the management and the staff has been replaced. Also the restaurant is completely renovated with a wood-fired oven, so we have daily fresh bread and pizza 1x/week. As you wrote about the bathrooms, we are... More

Stayed here for a week with three of my friends while traveling through Malawi and in that short time the staff made if very difficult to want to leave. From day one everyone was extremely welcoming and made us feel like we were a part of their family. The campsites on the mountain are amazing and you get to hear... More

We arrived without a reservation and were friendly welcomed by Rikki and her team. We were the only campers and had a great beachfront camping spot with view of the lake and the picturesque surroundings. In the mornings we were woken up by the cry of the fish eagles! The ablution facilities with cold showers only, are beautifully decorated but... More

We parked our Landy with a rooftop tent right on the beautiful beach in this lovely setting on Lake Malawi. The owner and staff welcomed us warmly and were very helpful. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are in a poor condition. There are only two toilets and two showers. One of the toilets did not have a seat and the showers were... More

Myself and two friends travelled to Mufasa's for the Easter Weekend. After debating whether to stay in Cape Maclear or Monkey Bay, we decided on Monkey Bay in order to avoid the holiday crowds at Cape Mac. The best decision we could have made. Mufasa's is situated in the most picturesque and secluded bay, framed by granite hills covered in... More

Located on it'd own beach the simple accommodation was perfect for our needs. The were friendly and always willing to help. The lodge is ideally siuated if you plan to take the lake ferry. Be patient when waiting for a meal it will arrive.

We stayed briefly at Mufasa's when traveling up the lake with Ilala. The lodge is located in a beautiful and relaxed part of the beach little separated from the main street (i quess) of Monkey bay but is still the closest lodge when considering the harbour where Ilala sets off. Rooms are small but comfortable and we felt like the... More
