Spent a week recently at Hideout Lodge with my wife and we loved the relaxed seclusion of the beachfront oasis. George, the manager was such a gracious host who insured our stay exceeded our expectation. The beach is beautiful, accommodation delightful and the food was great, the beer was always cold! Thank you George for making our stay so memorable.... More

This Hostel is located in Butre, just the neighbouring village of the famous Busua Beach. Busua changed negatively in the last years. Butre is much nicer and relaxed. You still can do a daytrip to Busua. The Hideout Lodge is a perfect place to relax completely. I went there with 2 friends and stayed three nights. You could easily spend... More

Friends and I arrived here for one night over the December holidays after a tip from a friend - loved it so much that we changed our plans and stayed for three nights. We had a bungalow at the back of the property with two bedrooms (three beds) and a private bath - perfect for three adults traveling together. Good... More

First off, the name is well-deserved: the place was about as remote as can be along the coast: coming from Accra, it was about an hour past Takoradi and required a long drive down an oil palm plantation road, then a beach road. (Tip: flying to Takoradi and then arranging a taxi with the owners will save you several hours.)... More

This is the perfect place to chill out, 10km of quasi-virgen beach (only a little village of fishermen). This place is really marvellous. Plus the food and the drinks are excellent, the fresh lobster is delicious but I also recommend the banana-curry pizza. There is also Pina Colada served in real coconut!

Stayed at the Hideout after traveling Ghana two weeks on a work trip - mainly inland. So arriving at the Hideout, just by the sea, to feel the airy breeze, was just perfect. The surroundings are very nice. Not overcrowded, but nearby is small fishing villages, which you can easily walk to and just sit at the beach and chat... More

Love this place. It's name says it all. Once you arrive you won't want to leave. The beach is beautiful and nearby villages of Butre and Busua are worth a wander too. Apart from that, get yourself a coconut cocktail, have a banana pizza and swing in your hammock to the sound of the waves.

What a magical place. The setting is so beautiful on a wonderful long bay lined by coconut palms. I camped here in the gardens, very lovely spot and a reasonable rate. Staff are great, and the food is good quality and decent portions. There are a number of rooms all set back behind the restaurant area in very lush gardens.... More

Probably one of the most beautiful places in all of Ghana. The food and the service is excelent compared to almost any other place in Ghana, and the accomidation is also quite good for its price range. Highly recomended.
