Beds not great, but location is. The staff members are great - friendly and helpful. Rooms need new beds and other updates. Have stayed here for three years in a row for a mission trip. Continue to stay at this hotel because of relationships built with the staff members.

Stayed here for a week, hotel clean and tidy and grounds well looked after although the rooms could do with a update, great beach and a good place to mix with some locals. Breakfast typical of this type of hotel and if your looking for somewhere that won't break the bank it's not to bad.

Not the newest place and therefore you shouldn't expect it to be modern. The rooms were a bit dated but everything worked well and we were definitely happy staying there. The pool area is really nice and peaceful and the beach is only around the corner. We didn't get the hotel breakfast as we thought we'd be able to make... More

This is basically a hotel that seems to double as a Scandinavian retirement home of poor quality. The staff in the reception are friendly but ineffective. Rooms... We paid extra for the best rooms... but when we arrived they had problems due to double booking (again) so we got a normal room the first night. The horror that met us... More

Really great hotel: do not expect luxury. Simple rooms, but clean. The barracuda is delicious in the restaurant and the staff is very nice. In contrast, it is more fun to spend most of your time outside the hotel doors. Take an official local guide: You find them in a simple stall opposite the Ocean Bay Hotel (the only resort... More

Just back from a fantastic holiday in Gambia. So the hotel - i know Gambia 5 stars doesn't mean UK 5 stars but still I have to admit I expected the bathroom and beds to be better aesthetically ( 2 twins pushed together with separate bedding for each in the double room) however they were clean, well appointed otherwise and... Little hotel, a favourite of mine in the past, in a relatively quiet location on a deserted beach. Some of the negative reviews have surprised me and I can barely believe except for noise of entertainment. Ask for a room out of earshot of the pool/entertainment area! But it also floods in from the street, so earplugs! The pool gives... More

We stayed here for ten days during low season ( only three rooms were occupied! And we loved every minute of it! Reading the previous reviews it kind of shows that one needs a certain attitude to enjoy this hotel. As you need a certain attitude to enjoy this whole country of Gambia! Yes, the hotel may be a bit... More

This hotel is used mainly by Scandinavian "regulars" on Cook's tours - it is a basic hotel but the staff are very friendly and relaxed - ask for a discount. The pool is good - the breakfast is monotonous but reasonable in quality - nothing special. The evening meals are standard but more expensive than the restaurants in the village... More
