We always enjoy our stay at the Silvanus. Steele is a most gracious host, and treats his guests as if they have just come home. Service is excellent. Rooms are cozy, clean and quiet. Our most recent stay was for five days while attending the bicycle Auction in Copake.
There are many dining options nearby. All just a short drive....

We have stayed here twice. Same weekend last year and this... it's so convenient and so welcoming. Rooms are wonderfully decorated as well as clean and cosy. Prices are ridiculously affordable and he gives the best recommendations for local activities and dining recommendations. So perfectly located to skiing we will be back next year again!

We really need to have a way to "rate" our guests. The guests make it fun, especially repeat guests. PLUS, it really is nice to have the kindof guests that enjoy the adventure and get out and see it all. GOOD JOB.

We often stay with family in this area, but on this recent trip, we elected to stay in a motel. We found the Silvanus Lodge ideally located for winter sports. Our room was small but clean, comfortable and imaginatively decorated. The rates are very reasonable. The owner was attentive to our needs, and shared his considerable knowledge about the area....

My son and I having been going to the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival for years and in the beginning we camped on the festival grounds. We got tired of that and were able to get a room at the Silvanus. Small, but nicely done room, with all the amenities we needed. Everything was clean and in good shape. Decor is interesting and tasteful, with upbeat funky sense of humor. If you don't go expecting a five-star hotel, you should enjoy it. We had a very good summer weekend night in July. Near swimming holes, Hudson and with its own pool, we found it clean and simple.
The owner was helpful in identifying places to go swimming and to wander around. The rooms are motel-sized, ie not big, but well-maintained...

My girlfriend and I travel frequently and we always try to find smaller family owned establishments as opposed to impersonal generic chains. With the Silvanus Lodge we pretty much lucked upon a place we'll definitely return to.
