We stayed here with friends from Canada, and all of us agreed we couldn't have found nicer accomodation for the price. The rooms were beautiful, with personal design touches that you just don't get in a mid-range hotel. And breakfast meant that we certainly didn't need lunch! The food was great - plentiful, varied and expertly done! more
We booked a stay at Portobello Inn for Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Weekend. We were so happy that the Inn was about 25 minutes away from Cooperstown, NY as we planned to visit the entire area as well as Cooperstown and did not want to get caught up in the traffic of Induction Weekend. We spent the weekend at the Inn. Our hosts, Steve and Roland, were most welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The Inn overall was very warm and charming. This B & B was a wonderful surprise. The room was large, well appointed and clean. The host, Roland, was very warm and helpful. I especially liked the little touches, like the homemade oatmeal cookies. Highly recommend it. more

My Husband and I stayed at the Portobello while checking out land for sale in Herkimer. Both the establishment and the hosts Roland and Steve were so welcoming that I must recommend a stay here very highly. We felt pampered and relaxed after our stay.
