I came here with a group of Boy Scouts for a Scout Weekend for the Geology Merit Badge in the associated Herkimer Diamond Mines which is across the street. The campground was beautiful. Despite being very full, the place was exquisitely clean and meticulously maintained. Bathrooms were well stocked and spotless. Check-in/Check-out process was very easy. The store had everything... This is our 2nd trip back to Herkimer and this KOA is one of the best we've stayed at. The staff are all very nice and helpful, the grounds and amenities are very nice, and it's within walking distance to the diamond mine. In the in-season they plan lots of activities and have more available. They just also just put... More

We only stayed one night, but this KOA had numerous scheduled events in the evening for children, including an outdoor movie, candy search after dark by flashlight, and pizza & S'mores. Situated along a small river, the setting was beautiful.

This was our first camping trip in many many years. We used to go hard (tents) but having aged a little we elected to rent a cabin this time. We were assigned to cabin 78 (field and stream). Our arrival was late, but my husband had made arrangements to get keys which went off without a hitch. The cabin was... More

I normally prefer backcountry camping, but sometimes need to do large group car camping for work (field trips). I've stayed in a number of KOAs for this, and the Herkimer KOA is a really nice one. It's fairly small, but on a really beautiful creek, and has all of the facilities one would expect from KOA- a pool, activities, etc.... More

We rented the deluxe cabin 64 along the creek. The creek sites are beautiful, level and spacious. The cabin itself is an upgraded trailer with all the amenities. Our family of five were comfortable. I felt the rates were pretty steep for the accommodations, thus the 4/5 star rating. The Campground was full due to the holiday weekend but quieted... More

The lots are level, the staff is extremely helpful, they have enough to entertain all age groups. If you want to Kayak, go to West Lake... public access and only a half hour away... Tubing is fine on the river.

Very family oriented and lots of activities for the kids. The tubing is fun but we went when the water had been let out further upstream and it was deep and difficult to get to shore to get out of the water. For the most part, the campgrounds were clean and well-maintained; however, at the Kabin Kitchen behind Kabins 1-10,... More

We had a large pull thru site for our trailer. It was level and easy to access. The campground was fantastic with lots to do for everyone. We really enjoyed just wandering around the park. It was spacious and clean. The facilities were excellent and modern. We would return again

Used this campground for a late night stop on our way to Niagara Falls. The info left in the late night check in was complete and the site was level and easy to find. Showers were clean. Would come back.
