We have had dinner here in the pat and it was pretty good. We decided to come on valentines day and were very disappointed. We made reservations for 6:30 thinking we'd beat the crowd and it seemed as though we did when we arrived. They were not packed and we were seated immediately, this is where it took a turn... More

I am so glad you contacted us! Yes, there was a communication error between our serving staff. We would never intentionally treat anyone this way and we strive to be the best at all times. I tried to contact you unsuccessfully by phone. Please call me at your convenience by phone 607-569-2528 or email info@villagetaverninn.com. Thank you and I am... More

We booked 2 nights but had to cancel due to my husband's surgery. The Tavern initialy charged me one night's deposit. After cancellation (2 months ahead of our arrival date), they refunded half of that. Guess I failed to notice their cancellation policy, but once you read it, you still need a while to let it sink it. Here it... More

My family and I took a getaway to Hammondsport, NY. We stumbled upon the Village Tavern Inn, and it was amazing. Not only were the rooms clean, comfortable, and conveniently located, the staff was friendly and helpful as well. My favorite in particular, was the crab and artichoke dip. The atmosphere along with the beer and wine selection made this... More

We stayed in Rooms #2 and 3 this weekend. The rooms were awesome - very clean, both had full kitchens, room #2 had a full living room and updated bath. The only suggestions we would have is to replace the plastic miniblinds with some room-darkening window treatments, and provide earplugs (the band from the bar next door was very loud... More

We had dinner here. The service was iffy. The waitress had a bizarre affect that just had us shaking our heads. The waitress said she was going to check and make sure they had everything on the menu available and then when we ordered an appetizer she came back and said they didn't have it. The food was ok. The... More

After multiple trips to Hammondsport recently, we have had high hopes of the Village Inn. When we finally got our chance to eat there, we had a group of six. We waited several minutes to be seated and I was excited by the ambiance. As soon as we were seated, we were handed HUGE binders for menus. Seriously? Binders? When... More

I had the best sleep of our entire trip at the Village Inn. The suite was immaculate and well outfitted and the beds downright luxurious. Yes, the floors slant and are a little wonky, but it's an old building, so that is to be expected--and anticipated! The Irish pub across the street was a bit loud on Saturday night, but... More

For the price, the room should have been a lot nicer and definitely a lot cleaner. It felt like we were crashing at someone's college apartment and not so much like staying in a hotel or inn. The room didn't really feel secure either as the door was pretty flimsy. The Irish pub across the street plays really loud music... More

It was a bit of a shot in the dark but we had no regrets. We even had a rough start to the weekend (airlines lost our luggage) but the friendly atmosphere Mary Anne and company have really lifted our spirits. For a weekend getaway, or even longer, this is the place to stay. The room (we had room 2)... More

Great food, great music! Love the atmosphere! I've been coming to Hammondsport for years, and the people are friendly and the town is adorable.
