Just spent a week's retreat at Greenville Arms for an art workshop. I had a room upstairs in the main building and found it clean, comfortable, cozy and very adequate. I used the small fridge for snacks and drinks. Shower was great and the bed firm and comfy. Loved the beautiful quilts, all made by Kim, which are on the... More

I attended an Art Workshop weekend at the Inn, which is one of their specialties. We stayed in the North Cottage, which was charming and comfortable as well as quite roomy. It has an enormous bathroom with a Jacuzzi as well. The grounds are beautiful and the food is topnotch. There is a very large swimming pool (unheated, but I... More

I have been coming for art workshops for several years and always enjoy staying at the Greenville Arms with Mark and Kim. They have a wonderful staff who work very hard to accommodate the variety of art guests and our quirky needs. I love the breakfasts, especially the special Southern grits with 2 eggs over light, topped with Carolina Creole... More

Greenville Arms 1889 Inn in Greenvile, NY is clean, has decent grounds, needs some updates, but fine for one night...except...that the owner Mark had the audacity to have construction right outside our room at 9 am on a Sunday morning including use of an electric saw and a big mess. So if you want a quiet/ nice weekend away in... More

We are constantly working on updating and improving our inn and do our best to schedule these updates when guests are not present, but sometimes that just isn't possible especially when the needed repair is for the safety of our guests. However, we deeply regret that the carpenter started work much too early on Sunday morning! We were not aware... More

This was our first B&B The whole atmosphere was friendly and inviting. The room we stayed in was number 4, private bath room, air conditioned and very cute. Had a good notes sleep. Only stayed one night and breakfast was included.

Spent two days with family and we were treated like family by Kim and Mark LaPolla. Warm comfortable room and great breakfast selection. Lovely grounds. If I were an artist this would be a wonderful place to take classes surrounded by interesting people in the beautiful Catskills. There is also their chocolate shop..."Life by Chocolate"....hand made and delicious. Yummy!

What a great place to enjoy the experience of folks who love art, the beauty around you and the fabulous food. You can meander around several acres of georgious landscape plus the wonderful 1889 Inn and onsite accommodations outside of the main house. Your hosts, Kim and Mark, welcome you and make you feel right at home. Our workshop instructor... More

Nice setting. Quiet area. However at a price tag of $160 (inc. tax) was just a bit overpriced for condition of room. We stayed in room 20, in Carriage House. Room was not just "musty" smelling, but had a distinct dirty toilet odor, which lasted all night, even though toilet was not the cause and bathroom/bedroom were very clean. Water... More

Management response:

We encourage our guests to tell us immediately if they have any issues with their room, unfortunately most wait until after they have left. This means it is too late for us to try to fix anything while they are here! In any case, I'm glad that these issues have been identified so that we can now fix them right... More

My regular stays at Greenville Arms are as one of the international tutors who teach workshops here, but this is a job many would kill for, and the host/Head Chef Mark La Polla and Kim, his Director run an excellent, homely, efficient service for even 'normal' people who simply come to have a holiday, or are passing through. The walls... More
